Sector 14 Borderlands was crawling with dark winged beings. Flocks of them appearing as pterodactyls dotted the cold air and blanketed the dying embers of the second sun in the sky making the day turn into night.

The team watched on and prepared themselves before entering the cave of Pain.

The location's namesake was not a disappointment. But it was the dimensional paradigm shifting that was worse to experience because it was physically painful in nature.

So painful, it is felt on a molecular level for all the teammate, except Michael.

Because they were shockingly morphing into different forms of themselves until all went to black before they all landed fifty feet below.

Suddenly, their memories were reset and temporarily wiped. They finally made it to their destination at Athanasia sector 3...aka Site 3.

As if time never stopped, Michael and his fellow teammates were once again checking their weapon stocks in silence before he gruffly spoke.

"That woman is gonna be the death of me," he muttered before shoving a loaded magazine into his .45 caliber firearm.

Adam chuckled before screwing a rifle scope into his M-16. "We all agreed we'd die for her everyday anyways, homie. So, it's automatic. Besides, she was only having a little fun with the kids. It's their day off. No harm, no foul, right?" he winked.

"Still," sighed Michael. "She needs to keep our kids' whereabouts private. And that shit she pulled earlier just put a spotlight on them."

"Come on, brother," laughed Lucifer with a twinkle in his eye as he glanced at Michael. "You're just really pissed Marie had Tanu Boy and Dicey all dressed up for the occasion."

"Psh," scoffed Michael. "You wouldn't be laughing so hard if it were Hunter."

Michael peered at him behind his rifle scope. Lucifer then chuckled amusingly. Just when Lucifer was going to respond, they spotted Raphael and Danael walking up towards the nest site with their assault rifles resting on their forearms.

"Have you spotted any Darkies at Sector 4?"inquired Lucifer attempting to change the subject.

"It's all quiet. We cut through Moss Side cemetery to check out the southernmost point. Other than a herd of goats, there was no sign of AP'ers there," replied Danael as he tanked down water from a canteen.

"Spartan Squad radio'ed us from the eastside nest site. Sector 10. Nada. They've got nothing to report at the northernmost point as well," stated Raphael.

"Long-haul mission?" inquired Adam with a raised brow.

"Yeah. Sit tight, boys. This is just the calm before the storm," responded Michael.

Loto suddenly whisked in with Raider and a large group of hulking Angelic soldiers.

"Are we late for the party?" chuckled Loto.

"You're right on time, soldier," replied Michael emotionlessly.

He then peered over to the muscular soldiers with Loto and Raider and shook his head in disbelief before speaking again.

"But by the looks of it, we're over capacity."

The other soldiers were glancing at Michael while chuckling in full tactical gear with their assault rifles in their hands.

"Michael. It's been a while, brother," winked LT.

"Lemuel. Pleased to see you've Descended in one piece," muttered Michael without making eye contact.
