I agree with you, but I disagree

I love having healthy debates and discussions with people from every walk of life. Of course, there is a saying, fools rush in where angels fear to tread.

So I don't debate on things that I don't have enough knowledge. Basically I don't debates those topics I'm not interested in.

Now, I'm not talking about those who don't love to debate or think it's a waste of time. It's only for those who love healthy debates.

My debating style is, I generally quote scientific studies to my support arguments, which mostly make people agree. But many people try to find loopholes.

Often I come across people's responses when I quote studies that go like, "I agree with you," but then they go on to give their interpretation, which is not usually backed with a counter study. They just want to find a way to disagree. I'm like, "What's the point of saying, 'I agree with you,' if you don't fully agree with me. Either agree with me on all of my points or don't agree with me at all."

Have you debated a person who agrees with most of your points, but still find some way to disagree? The answer is confirmation bias.

The confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms or supports one's prior beliefs or values.

By the way, do you know what the fun is?

If you disagree with me on this post, then it's your confirmation bias stopping you. 😝😝😝😝😝
