Caleb Martinez

Calvin looked at his friend who was glaring at him as if he is going to bore some holes into his face. Calvin's face relaxed and returned his attention to the food he lost interest in.

"You don't suppose...he.. you think he... C'mon stop dreaming Caleb! Ever heard of doppelganger? You killed Alec yourself!"

Calvin said not caring about his friend's emotions anymore. He never saw Alec but he knows how precious he must be. And if Alec looks like Aidan, he can get an idea.

Caleb tensed in his seat and stared at his friend not believe he just said that.

"I.. killed Alec?" He asked absentmindedly. Calvin nodded his head poking his food with a fork.

"YOU... killed Alec!" He said calmly.  He stood up and went to the counter then returned to the seat.

"Aidan isn't studying, but Noah is in college! As for me, fortunately! And praise to Hades! Next week our field vacation starts! I'm sure Noah will come to England with Aidan to visit their grandfather!"

Calvin paused to see if his friend was paying attention or not, who to his dismay he was paying attention.

"Well, you can settle your dispute next week! And, please Caleb stop the habit you picked these last months! Man whoring isn't going to fix your pain!" Calvin said and pecked Caleb on both cheeks and went away.

Caleb banged his head on the table hard making other customers yelp and sent Calvin back. Calvin apologized as he took Caleb outside.

"What the fuck wrong with you? Is it the end of the world? Get your shit together man!" Calvin scolded him, he just looked down embarrassed.

Calvin exhaled heavily and looked at his friend. He sighed and pulled him into a hug.

"At moments like these, I hate it that I'm your friend!" Calvin said before hauling for a cab and shove the spaced-out man in.

He gave a cab driver the address and the fare. He didn't say anything to his friend and signed the driver to go. The driver was actually a wise man, he didn't say anything but he tuned in some slow music.

Caleb could feel a good building upon his face. He told himself he won't cry, what is happening?

Soon an upbeat song started to sing

Here's the thing, we started out friends
It was cool, but it was all pretend
Yeah, yeah, since you been gone
You dedicated, you took the time
Wasn't long till I called you mine
Yeah, yeah, since you been gone

And all you'd ever hear me say
Is how I pictured me with you
That's all you'd ever hear me say

But since you been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I'm so moving on, yeah, yeah
Thanks to you, now I get what I want
Since you been gone

He found himself laughing at how ironic that song was to his current situation. The laugh got the driver's attention who looked at him concerned.

"Sir, are you doing well?" He said his southern accent kicking. Caleb let out another muffled chuckle.

"Pardon me, kind sir! I will change the song!" The driver said reaching for the aux. Caleb collected himself.

"Please, I just enjoyed the song! Let it play!" Caleb said and sat uprightly for the first time since he gets in that car.

The driver nodded and kept driving following the GPS instructions. The song, Since you been gone by Kelly Clarkson, continued to play the other verses describing how good it felt that they broke up.
