At this time of day, Katara just wanted night to come, she was looking at the beach from her balcony.
The light of the night illuminated the entire coast, it felt all calm. The view was beautiful, the wind was so subtle that it caressed all of her skin ...
But she needed something, someone who was always there for her but, almost a month ago, he had been absent to the Earth kingdom to talk with King Kuei.
"Do you miss him, buddy?" She asked the little Lemur that rested on the window.
Katara had not been able to go with him, she was ill, quite recurrent headaches, so the fact of traveling in Appa would not be something that would help her improve.
Something unusual because Aang never traveled alone, Katara always accompanied him. She liked his company, helping him in whatever was necessary, being there for him.
She remembered those times of war, where they loved each other, but neither had the courage to say so.
They were difficult times, but now, everything is different. Aang ended the war, and at last, what she always wanted came true, they could be together without fear that one would be hurt.
They had already spent 8 years together. The most wonderful of her life. Traveling around the world, observing those unique views that could only be seen from above, helping to build a city and sharing their knowledge with others, were one of the few things that came to her mind when trying to remember the moments they had lived.
The time they spent together was always ephemeral, for some reason, whenever they thought they would enjoy a few weeks quietly, something happened, rudely taking away their moments.
Katara supposed that dating the Avatar brought its negative side from time to time.
On the other hand, the trips with the airbender were not only for company. She had to make sure that no girl got close to Aang no matter how much she trusted him
The avatar was a young man of 20 years, quite tall, with very well defined features and muscles, nothing exaggerated and quite attractive for his age.
He was quite a celebrity, very loved by all the people around him. The four Nations were completely at his disposal, grateful to him for ending the War.
Definitely too many girls are after him and it was something Katara didn't seem to like.
"It's a beautiful sight" she said as she sighed.
"I'm just waiting for the night, darling." While you're gone, it's the only way I can be with you, in my dreams.
The monk would only be out of her for a little over a month, but it was more than she could bear.
She was excited for the day of his return; They would continue with what they left pending.
Republic City was in a growth phase very fast, new factories, benders and non-benders from all over the world were moving almost daily to the new City. In the last few years, things had been very quiet. The riots that were taking place weren't much of a problem for the metalbending police.
Aang had convinced the councilors that an authority was necessary to watch over the place, so Toph Beifong would be the ideal one to lead this work.
Before going to bed, she took one last look at the island that was facing the bay. A place that Aang had promised Katara would be her home was under construction. Where they could enjoy their life together, without being disturbed by anyone. A place where your children would grow up.
