Spencer hadn't left your side in the ambulance. When they reached the hospital the doctors had to practically pry him off so they could wheel you to emergency surgery.
He waited a second before running in to the hospital. The team joined him after they put your uncle away.
"We're looking for a patient, Agent y/l/n." Derek showed his badge. "She should of been brought here." He impatiently waited as she typed on the computer.
"She's in surgery now." The nurse replied.
"Guys over here." Emily found Spencer in one of the waiting room chairs. His head was in his hands and he was leaning over, presumably crying. He was still in his blood soaked clothing. He looked up when he heard his team walk up.
"It's my fault." He muttered.
"No it's wasn't kid." Rossi started but he cut him off.
"Yes! It was. Maybe if I wasn't such a selfish prick then maybe she wouldn't be in surgery right now! I should've never left her apartment." His hands ran through his messy hair.
"There was no way you could've predicted this." Hotch chimed in. He shook his head.
As much as he wanted to believe that, he couldn't.
"She wanted me out and I just left. Just like that. What kind of boyfriend am I?" Derek sat next to him.
"One that loves y/n."
Spencer's sad eyes met his. The next thing that came from him were tears. Derek put his hand on the side of his head and pulled him into his shoulder. "She'll be alright. She's a fighter."
2 hours later the doctor came out.
"Y/n y/l/n?" Your team rose. "Nothing major was hit, he just missed her lung. She should wake up in the next day or two. I would have to say, we did stitch her up but once the stitches fall out there will be a pretty noticeable scar." The team nodded. "She can be discharged a day after she wakes up but with that, she'll need to be put on bed rest and someone will have to stay with her." Before the doctor could finish Spencer volunteered. He thought that this was the way he could make it up to you.
"You can visit her."

2 days quickly passed. The team visited everyday and dropped by flowers. Spencer stayed the entire time, never leaving your side. He eventually changed once Garcia brought him some clothes. He was asleep on the green chair that was on the right side of your bed.
Your eyes slowly opened, adjusting to the dark room. The beeping machines were loud and very annoying. Your eyes drew to the bright lights in the hallway. When it hurt to look over there you winced and turned your head to the right. You saw Spencer. Your heart rate picked up its pace. He woke up when he heard a change on your heart monitor. His eyes met yours.
"Where am I..?" You rasped out. You looked down at your arm and saw an iv.
"Y/n." His voice was low and soft. "You're at the hospital. Do you remember what happened?" Your memory was foggy but you had the main idea on lockdown. You slowly nodded yes.
"You came for me... even after I broke it off? Why?"
"Y/n." He gripped your hand. "I love you. No matter what happens, I'll always come for you." You cried.
You looked down and saw the hospital gown you were in. "I-I ruined your favorite sweater." You croaked. He looked down and laughed.
"It's fine. I can get a new one. Plus it's kind of even now, remember your sweater?"
