Dean.
We arrived to the shopping strip and I've never seen two people exit a car so fast until today. I took the keys out the ignition and hopped out locking it behind me. I looked over to see Cas waving me over to him and Charlie and I quickly go over.
"I can't wait to look at baby stuff." He told me.
"Are we actually buying things or just looking Cas?" I opened the door for the two.
"We can get essentials and then more personalized things later once we actually know the gender." He smiled walking in after Charlie.
"It's so cute in here!" Charlie whisper yelled and we smiled.
"Hello welcome in, I'm Miranda can I help you find anything?" A worker asked.
"Actually yes, a crib and some other essential items a baby might need." Cas told her and she smiled.
"Okay follow me." She smiled back end we following her.We walked past so many things from strollers to walkers and changing tables. Seeing all began to overwhelm me and I slowed down from everyone else and looked around. There was a high chair to the right of me and I walked over to it. I ran my index finger over the table and just stared at it. This was really what I was getting myself into, buying a 65 dollar chair for a kid to sit and eat in. I zoned out for a while before I heard my name being called.
"Dean." I heard and I turned my head to the left and saw Cas motioning me to come on end I smiled and walked his way.
"So these are our best cribs right here with really good safety features if I do say so myself. So you don't have to worry about your little one falling out or the crib gates hurting them. Plus they come with a changing table as well, a two in one." Miranda said smiling.
"I like this one." I heard Charlie say and I looked at her standing but the white crib and shrugged.
"Dean be more enthusiastic about having a kid and putting them to sleep in this crib and coming to get them in the morning." She gushed and I smiled at her.
"Oh are you two expecting a child?" Miranda asked us and Cas laughed.
"We're expecting a child." He told her and her eyes widened.
"Well congratulations to you two!" She smiled and clapped for us and we thanked her.
"Dean I like this one." He told me taking my hand and we stood in front of it. It was a dark wood but made like the white one Charlie liked. It was gorgeous really.
So I did what Charlie said, I imagined myself with my kid. Waking up in the morning seeing their smiling face when they see me and then late at night when they have their pacifier in their mouth about to fall asleep and I lay them down and watch them. It was nice to think about.
"Dean?" I was snapped out of my thoughts by Cas and I looked at him.
"I like it too."
"But how much is it?" Charlie chimed in ame I laughed, it's like she read my mind.
"This one is $345, but if you go through Mickeys line they'll bump it down for you for sure." She said.
"Dean?" Cas looked at me like he was almost begging me to say yes.
"That's a lot Castiel."
"I know, but think about it in the long run."
"Fine. We'll get it." I told Miranda and she smiled and clapped.
"Yay, let my put it down and when you go to checkout someone will bring it to the front." She told us and we nodded.
"Let me take you over to the high chairs, there's a really cute multicolored one we have and it's on sale. It was a best seller then it just wasn't." She told us leading the way and it was the one I was looking at earlier.
"Oh Dean was looking at this earlier, did you like it?"
"I kinda was just staring at in I'm not gonna lie. But now that I'm actually looking at it yeah I like it." I said and he smiled and told her to add it to the list.
"Now another essential is a stroller of course, and just like the high chairs we have a really good one that's on sale. It's one of those strollers that you change the size as the baby gets bigger." She told us walking towards them.
"Oh the ones you adjust so you can fit the little car seat thing in it?" Charlie asked.
"You're absolutely correct ma'am." Miranda responded with a smile.
It was a black stroller that adjusted just the they'd said.
"And before you ask it's $150" she said.
"Add it." Cas smiled at her and she began writing.
"And the last essential is a baby carrier, you can always get a car seat later." She said pointing at them.
"What color?" Charlie asked and I looked at her with pleading eyes.
"Well if you don't know the gender I always think brown is good. Like the light brown we have, it's cute regardless of the babies gender." Miranda told is resting her hand on the light brown one she was talking about.
"Add it." I told her beating Cas to it and he laughed.
"And right here is where we have baby clothes if you wanted to give that a look for onesies and on the other side are diapers and wipes then towards the front is the baby food." She told us and we thanked her before she walked away with the carrier box.Cas took my hand and we walked with Charlie to get a better look at the clothes. She was already just stacking them in her hand, white, black, gray, green.
"Am I going overboard?"
"You look like you're having fun this kids gonna be well dressed with Aunt Charlie around." I told her.
"Yeah they are, there's never gonna be a dull moment." Cas added.
"Aunt Charlie has a nice ring to it guys!" She said laughing and we started heading up to the front.
Case was grabbing random things along the way then he became mesmerized by the baby food.
"It can wait love." I whispered in his ear.
"So who do you think is Mickey?" Charlie asked.
I laughed, and I mean deep from my gut laughed and they looked at me. "Why are you laughing?" Cas asked and I pointed.
"I take it the one with the pride flag around the pole is Mickey, but if that didn't give it away, they also have our stuff." I said walking to them.
"Hi there, you must be the soon to be owners of all this." Mickey said smiling gesturing to our things.
"You'd be correct." I said and Cas and Charlie emptied their hands.
My ears flooded with the beeping of the machine and the crinkle of the bags as they bagged our things.
"Miranda said you didn't know if it was a boy of girl yet." Mickey said and Cas nodded.
"Yeah, but I'm placing bets on a boy." He said.
"Me too" Charlie said.
"Not me, I think it'll be a girl." I told them.
"The odd man out, someone here will be right." Mickey laughed checking the bigger items out.
"That total is $665, but don't worry I'll knock it down...making it $625 for you today."
"Thanks Mickey." I said taking out my debit card and I went to swipe and my hand was met with Cas's hand.
"Back up sir." I told him but he stood his ground.
I just stared at him and he stared at me before pushing me and swiping his card anyways.
"Castiel!"
"I picked it out, I pay. You can pay for anything else baby." He told me entering his pin.
"Yeah like the baby." Charlie said and Mickey burst out laughing and so did Cas.
"Baby shopping" she said in between laughs and I just shook my head at them realizing someone was here to help us take the things to our car.
"Follow me, it's my car we can leave them." I told the man and he chuckled following me out the door with the cart.
I let the trunk of the car up and began helping him put the crib in and man was that shit heavy, next was the high chair, then the carrier and the stroller. These things were no joke heavy as fuck. I heard footsteps approaching and a hug from behind.
"You left me. Well us."
"Yes I did with you're new bestie Mickey." I said closing the trunk and thanking the man who helped.
I hoped in and started it up.
"Successful day of baby shopping." Cas said and Charlie began to laughed as I back out the parking space. I chuckled and shook my head at them.
"We got em!!" Cas yelled and Charlie laughed even more.Long time no chapter.
