Chapter 5

Seoul, 12 Feb'20

The weather forecast says it will snow today. Songhwa was awake, but she's still felt tired, so she pulled up the blanket and try to close her eyes again. But of course she failed, she never could back to sleep once she's awake.

Seems like today's weather forecast is right, when she opened her bedroom window, a cold wind rushed in. She immediately closed the window again, but when she pulled the handle of the window, she felt the water fall on her hand and she just realized that it was drizzling. It's 5.30 a.m and it's raining. Suddenly she smiled and feels so good. She's gonna enjoy today before going back to Sokcho.

After takes a bath, Songhwa prepares to brewing her coffee, she just received a new coffee bean from Jeongwon. His mother brought that as a gift after she's back from Jeju with Chairman Ju last weekend.
While she drinks her coffee, the news on tv start bothering her. It's about a new coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China. Their government even do the lockdown for the city. This new coronavirus actually has become a main topic of discussion among medical workers. She just hopes it won't get worse.

While enjoying the morning, her phone just ringing and when she look up, it's Ikjun.
"Hey, are you awake ?"
"Already enjoying my morning coffee now"
"Why so early?"
"I've already woke up at 5.30 and couldn't sleep anymore"
"Make one for me too"
"What?"
"Coffee, i've already downstairs now"
Songhwa is panicked, what is he doing so early here ?"
"Why you're coming here so early ?"
"Ah i'm getting in the elevator now. See you"
"Yaaa..." and the phonecall just off. She's panicked and she start cleaning up her kitchen, her living room, she was tired for the last 5 days prepared the twin's surgery so didn't cleaned up her apartment properly.
And as she walks back and forth between her kitchen and living room, she just realized she's not wearing a bra yet. Well she thinks she's still enjoying her morning, who wear bra when she's only by herself in her apartment. She's running back to her bedroom and going to her closet in a rush to wear the bra immediately while suddenly her doorbell is ringing.
"Yaaa i'm coming!" can Ikjun stop surprising me.

Songhwa open the door and when Ikjun saw her "what you've been doing in the morning?"
"Hah?"
"You look exhausted"
"What?" Songhwa immediately fix her clothes and her hair. Ikjun cannot help but laugh. "This is why i pressed your doorbell, can i come in now ?"
"Come in" Songhwa flustered and feels like her cheeks turn to red.

"Yaaa, i haven't clean up my apartment, why you come so early today? And i told you many times, you don't need to pick me up every morning just because i didn't bring my car to Seoul"
"I just drop my parents to Seoul Station this morning, they went back to Changwon today and they took the first train schedule, so i might come here since i don't have anything to do at home"
"What about Uju ?"
"He went to Changwon with my parents, they're planning to have winter party or something this weekend with neighborhoods. Apparently Uju already has some friends there"

Songhwa is still flustered as she walks to her kitchen to get a coffee for him.
"Do you have breakfast already?" Ikjun follows her to the kitchen.
"Not yet. I just woke up and make some coffee and you showed up" Songhwa doesn't want to look awkward in front of Ikjun so she's trying sounds witty to him.
"Hahaha, Arraseo. Do you want me to make something for you?"
"No, just sit there i'm in the mood for making a toast today"
"Arraseo" Ikjun smiled and sit on her dining table.

She prepares the coffee for him, and make some toast bread, while Ikjun's eyes on her. She feels that. She's so nervous knowing Ikjun looking at her while she prepare their breakfast. How is it making a toast feels like doing a presentation in front of professor in school. She only making a toast but her heart beat so fast.
"Are you going back to Sokcho today?" Ikjun realized Songhwa looks uneasy with them being in silent, so he start the conversation.
Songhwa put the toast on the table, she's also manage to make an omelette for their breakfast.
"Yups"
"Don't you say you still need to monitor the twins?"
"I'll come to the hospital today to check on them, Jeongwon also can monitor the twins"
"Do you already have outpatients for tomorrow?"
"Hmmm.. ya, i also have craniotomy on Friday"
"Hmmm.. Arraseo"
She wants to stay a bit longer in Seoul but she's already hold some surgery and some patients due to her visit to Seoul since last week.
While they're enjoying their breakfast Ikjun told Songhwa about how Iksun's doing now in U.K, he said he knew that Iksun has a boyfriend but Iksun said she would tell him when she's back to Seoul for holiday next month. Songhwa amazes that how Ikjun now pays so much attention to Iksun. They're also discuss about Songhwa's second brothers Chae Eun Woo that planning to open a restaurant soon. Songhwa said her brother cooks well but he didn't have a confident to open a restaurant but after getting a support from family and friend, he is finally decided to open a restaurant in Hongdae this summer.

As it's already 7.30 am now, they're getting ready to go to the hospital.
"You're taking your suitcase now ?" Ikjun realized Songhwa brings one suitcase before they leave.
Songhwa nodded "hmmm, i need to bring some books and blanket. i realized i don't feel comfortable with my new blanket in Sokcho."
"Do you really need to go back to Sokcho today"
"Yes, why ?"
Ikjun didn't say anything, despite knowing that Songhwa is now living in Sokcho, he enjoys her presence here for the last six days. Everyday he comes to her apartment to pick her up and drive her back to her apartment. He even enjoy last night. after the successful surgery of conjoined twins, they celebrate by having dinner together. Only the two of them as the others have surgery.
"Yaaa, i'll be back on the weekend if you guys want to have band practice" Songhwa notices Ikjun's expression doesn't look good, he looks disappointed.
"No, it's okay. You might still tired. We could practice some other time"

Ikjun took her suitcase from her hands and walks out the door while Songhwa just stand there looking at him. She knows she hasn't give him an answer, she knows he's trying so hard to make situation more comfortable between them. She wants to tell him that she didn't forget what he asked last year, she thought about it, a lot. But she still put a lot of pieces together. There's a lot of questions on her mind, that she wants to ask to him. But she's afraid. Even though she's not sure what she's afraid for. She might be afraid to know the truth, the thought of him has feelings for her since 20 years ago just like Yuna said before or she's afraid that they will change if they act on their feelings.
