It was only the first day back at Hogwarts and Professor McGonagall was already giving her a pain in the arse. Today they were having yet another lesson about Switching Spells; Ivory always thought McGonagall took things too seriously. As for her first lesson in Alchemy, it was quite stressful. It turned out to be much more difficult than what Snape taught which was Potions.
Since she's currently in her sixth year, most of her previous subjects had been dropped like her two least favourite ones that happened to be Herbology and Divination. Because she got Outstandings and Exceeds Expectations on her O.W.L.s last year, Ivory decided to take on an academic career.
The morning went by like a flash and she now had a bunch of homework in her hands to finish by tomorrow. It wasn't that much of a problem since there was alot of vacant periods on her schedule compared to last year. Ivory sat alone in the Great Hall for lunch as she helped herself with some steak and mashed potatoes.
"Hey." Someone greeted, sitting down across from her and started grabbing food of his own.
Ivory didn't have to look up to know who it was as she gave him a slight nod, keeping her gaze fixed down upon her plate.
"Rough mornin', innit? First day back and we've already got stacks of homework to do." Terence muttered, quite irritated. Ivory only hummed in response, taking a sip from her goblet of pumpkin juice.
"Oi! Terence! Ivory!" Adrian bellowed as he rushed his way over to them, some Slytherin girls gazed at him dreamily and Ivory couldn't help but to roll her eyes. She couldn't understand how his smile could make girls cream their panties, Adrian was such a loud mouth when it came to his friends.
"Have you heard?" Adrian sat next to Terence with a wide grin etched upon his face. The group of girls on the other end of the table whispered in each other's ears and giggled loudly, Adrian didn't seem to pay any mind to them.
"Heard what?" Terence furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, Ivory did the same.
"That Potter kid and his sidekick, Weasley, got expelled for driving a flying car straight into the Whomping Willow." Adrian explained, the grin never leaving his face.
"Is that so? Then explain to me why are they entering the Great Hall right now."
Ivory pointed her finger towards the large double doors, the two second year gits strutted down the aisle as they sat close to that Granger girl in the Gryffindor table. Adrian frowned as soon as Ivory mentioned this.
"Well looks like you got your hopes up for nothin', Pucey." Lucian Bole suddenly joined the group along with his good pal, Peregrine Derrick who sat next to Ivory. Marcus Flint greeted his team as he sat next to Adrian.
It was starting to make Ivory feel uncomfortable and left out as she quietly gathered up her things. Although something made her stop from leaving her chair.
A screeching owl glided down across the Great Hall whilst hooting loudly, catching the attention of many students.
'That's odd.... it's not mail time.' Ivory thought as she prayed that this owl wasn't going to land next to her.
She didn't fancy a letter from her father on her first day of school but luck was on her side as she watched it land right infront of the golden trio.
The owl crashed onto the Gryffindor table, spilling chips from a large bowl and knocking a few goblets full of pumpkin juice onto the table. It made the Slytherins snicker as they stared at the mess that the owl had created.
"Never seen an owl land like that. Looked like a bloody chicken." Lucian cackled which made the group laugh louder, even Ivory seemed to find his joke amusing.
