At last the lesson she had been dreading to learn since her third year was finally going to be taught to the sixth years.
Apparition.
"I'd be careful if I were you. Might get yourself splinched, it happened to Archer once. His lower half ended up across the Hall."
Ivory grimaced at Marcus' statement, she was quite nervous and excited at the same time. Once she learned how to apparate and disapparate on her own she wouldn't have Polly bring her to places anymore.
"Thank you Captain that sure was very encouraging." Adrian mocked.
"So how'd you two pass?" Marcus and Miles frowned at Lucian's question.
"We... actually failed our Apparition Test last year." Replied Miles, sheepishly.
"Ha! I'm not surprised." Ivory commented in amusement, she faced the two seventh years whilst walking backwards.
"But we will redeem ourselves this year. You'll see." Continued Miles, confidently with a cocky smirk.
"Really? With the brains size of a walnut, I'd be surprised if you two managed to graduate Hogwarts this year."
Ivory joked with a wide grin, making the other sixth years laugh. Their loud cackles echoing down the halls of the dark dungeons. Exiting the dungeons, the group had split ways. Marcus and Miles headed for Transfigurations. While the rest darted straight for the Great Hall.
Upon arrival, sixth years from every House were scattered around the room. Chatting away about how excited they all were for today's special lesson with a Ministry wizard who would be their instructor for the next several weeks. It was a good thing that it wasn't Lockhart whom would teach them Apparition or only the worst could happen during their lessons. All the benches and tables were moved out of the way, stacked up on either side of the Hall thus leaving a huge space in the middle of the room.
"Good morning." A Ministry wizard greeted all the students including the Heads of Houses.
"My name is Wilkie Twycross and I shall be your Ministry Apparition instructor for the next twelve weeks. I hope to be able to prepare you for your Apparition Tests by which time many of you may be ready to take your tests." Twycross continued with a broad smile, meeting the eyes of many Hogwarts students.
"As you may know, it is usually impossible to Apparate or Disapparate within Hogwarts. The headmaster has lifted this enchantment, purely within the Great Hall for one hour, so as to enable you to practice. May I emphasize that you will not be able to Apparate outside the walls of this Hall and that you would be unwise to try. Now I would like each of you to place yourselves now so that you have a clear five feet of space in front of you."
In an instant, everyone started to scramble around the Great Hall in attempt of finding themselves some space five feet apart from one another just as Twycross had instructed. Pushing and shoving people away, telling each other to move the fuck away from their spots.
The Heads of Houses took charge, silencing them whilst arranging them into positions and breaking up arguments.
"Thank you. Now then..." Once everyone had taken their positions, Twycross waved his wand as old-fashioned wooden hoops suddenly appeared on the floor in front of every student.
"The important things to remember when Apparating are the three D's! Destination, Determination, Deliberation!" Twycross said enthusiastically, clapping his hands with each word.
"Step one, fix your mind firmly upon the desired destination. In this case, the interior of your hoop. Kindly concentrate upon that destination now."
Ivory stared down at the hoop infront of her, focusing hard on the small circular space.
