Chapter Four

"Hey, guys, you ever see that really old movie, Empire Strikes Back?"
The spider guy asked
"Gosh, tony how old is this guy?"
I asked
"I don't know, I didn't carbon date him. He's on the young side."

Young side... like as young as me?..

As the spider kid was swinging towards Ant guy he tried explaining what he meant "You know that part ... where they're on the snow planet... with the walking thingies?"
He wrapped webs around big guy's legs.

"Maybe he's on to something."
I said
"I'll go high, y/n go low, Tony. Go high."
Rhodey said and I did what he said.

Spider guy swung around and around Ant dudes legs as Tony and Rhodey power towards his head, both landings hit together while I did everything I could from the ground.

"YES! That was awesome!"
Spider guy said excitedly as the Giant Ant guy falls over as his limbs fly out catching Spider guy and knocking him flying just before Tiny guy slams into the ground on his back. He returns to normal size and removes the face-plate of his helmet.

I weirdly felt energetic and excited to fight more. But then I felt a pain in my stomach from where Bucky had hit me.

I sat down groaning. I looked around then I looked over a little and saw Natasha firing at the panther king guy making him shocked from being able to stop Steve and Bucky.

"Soft"
I said with a small laugh. But then groans cause that had hurt.

I look behind me and saw Wanda and vision sat down together talking to one another.
I think they'd be cute together even though vision is an AI, it's still cute.

I sucked in a breath and pushed myself up. I looked over to the grass field by the airport and flying, smoking rhodey who just fell to the ground and tony kneeled beside him.

I looked around then fly over to them.
Rhodey's faceplate opened and tony sat beside him.
"What happened!"
Tony didn't say anything but motioned his head to Sam who flew down.

"I'm sorry-"
Sam started to say but then I walked to him and electroshocked him as much as I could make him fly back. Vision flew over to Sam and I sat down next to rhodey and tony.

"I'm sure he'll be ok.. he's a fighter"
I said quietly noticing how upset tony seemed.

I put my hands gently on Rhodey's head and took a deep breath, closing my eyes.

"He's.. hurt. And... his back hurts and legs hurt from the impact.. but that's all I- I can ...read from him"

I gave tony a small side hug and walked away leaving him time with Rhodey before the medical workers came.

I floated back to the airport area. I saw the spider guy laying on the ground with his mask half on. I stood next to him and he flinched seeing me.

"Oh hey.."

I tapped my wrists together making my suit retract into the bracelets.

"Hi. You ok?"

He sat up and took off his mask.
"Yeah- oh you're really pretty"

I smiled and looked down.
"Thanks... What's your name by the way."
"I'm peter.. Parker. Peter Parker"
"I'm y/n"

I looked back at tony then at peter
"And what's your superhero name. I just kept thinking of you as spider guy this whole time"
He chuckled as I said that.
"I-it's spiderman." 

I nodded and for a few seconds, we didn't talk.

"Oh- my superhero name is lighting spark... it's really stupid and sounds like something you'd name your dog but I made it up when I was six"

Peter gasped "Six?! And I thought having powers for six months was hard"

I laughed "I've had them since I was a baby and I was basically adopted by the avengers.."

"That's crazy... do you like to go to school"
He asked now invested in my life.
I nodded
"Yeah I'm 15 so I go to school just to.. keep myself busy while I'm not working"

Peter smiled "That's so cool"
I laughed then stood up.

I held out my hand and held peter up.

"I hope I get to see you again"
Peter said.
I paused. He wants to see me.. again?

"I- me too"

"I'm gonna- gonna go"
I said walking back. Peter nodded

I tapped my wrists together making my suit cover my body.

I waved at peter and then left to go how to see Tony was doing.

At the hospital where rhodey was being treated. Vision, Natasha, Y/n, and Tony all there-
I stood outside the door of Rhodeys hospital room listening to vision and Tony's conversation
T: "How did this happen?"
V: "I became distracted."
T: "I didn't think that was possible."
V: "Neither did I."

"It's Wanda"
I said quietly to myself then went over to Natasha who looked as concerned as the rest of us. I stood next to her and smiled. Tony came over and stood next to us, looking out at the area below.

T: "The doctors say he shattered L4 through S1. Extreme laceration in the spinal cord. Probably looking at some form of paralysis."
N: "Steve's not gonna stop. If you don't either, Rhodey's gonna be the best-case scenario."
T: "You let them go, Nat."

I looked at them
"We played this wrong"

Tony scoffed and leaned against the balcony.
"'We'? I think our team was all in the right headspace expect someone. Ya know this double agent right here"

Tony said referring to Nat

Natasha looked down and back up to the trees outside.

"Are you incapable of letting go of your ego for one goddamn second?"
Natasha said now talking to just tony.
"T'Challa told Ross what you did, so... they're coming for you."
Tony said looking at Nat but she not looking at him.

I slowly backed away noticing that this was a thing they needed to work out
