Chapter Twenty

I went and sat back down to the boys and explained the conversation I just had.

Peter sighed and I pulled him into a hug.

"I'm sorry" I whispered to him
"It's not your fault. And it's fine I didn't like MJ that much"

I smiled then the bell rang.

After school-
I asked if peter wanted to hangout he was done with detention and he said he would.

Peter and I sat down in my living room and I shuffled through some movies I had in a box.
Peter stayed watching me as I looked for a movie but I didn't think much of it.

"Ok, so I have-"
I started to say showing the movies I had but peter interrupted

"I like you"

I froze
"What?"
He stood up and sat down in front of me
"Um well uh- first time I saw you when we were fighting I-I liked you... I just.. thought didn't and-and thought I shouldn't because we're like- we work together..."

I didn't know what to say
"Peter..."

"I-I-it's cool- i-it's alright if you um d-don't like me too.."

He seemed nervous like really nervous.

I wanted to say I liked him too but I just couldn't get the words out. First time in my life I was able to shut up.

"I should just... go"
Peter said and stood up.
I grabbed his hand and stood up.
I put my hand on his cheek and kissed him.

"You-you-"
He started to say
"I kissed you because I like you too"

He smiled a big smile.

"It's honestly... ironic. I've liked you for... forever. -just didn't want to mess anything up"
I said and smiled.

I stepped closer and then kissed him again but more passionate this time.

He put his hand on my side as we kissed then wrapped both of his arms around me, making me the closest I could be to him.

I pulled away but stayed in his arms.

"This is- insane.."
Peter said as we gazed into each other's eyes.

"Weird how things turn out..."
I said and then peter let go of me and then took a step away from me.

"Uh well- the-the movie... are still going to watch the movie?"
Peter said and I nodded.

We watched a movie together and then he left. I just laid on my couch replaying that last hour through my head. I never knew I could be in love but here I am.

Narrator-
Once peter got home and called Ned right away and told him what happened.

P: "Dude me and y/n kissed"
N: "what?!"
P: "and we kissed like they do in romantic movies!"
N: "no way! What- how-how did it happen?!"
P: "well I thought she looked really cute when I was in her house and she was getting a movie for us to watch and I just said I liked her!"
N: "finally! I've been trying to drop hints to her all the time.. wait do you think you two will be a couple?"
P: "well- probably"

Before the two could hush anymore about y/n, May got home and she wanted peter to help her with dinner.

After the twos kids, they hadn't spoken the rest of the night. Once they got to school things were weird.

Y/ns pov-
I woke up and remembered that I'd have to face peter today which was exciting and scary now that we both knew we liked each other.

I made myself look extra glam today. I got to school and was early so I waited by the sidewalk for the bus to pull in.

"Hey"
Flash said and I turned around
"Hi?"
I asked confused why he was talking to me
"My last date said she couldn't make it with me to homecoming so I see you're hotter than usual. Wanna come with me"

I laughed then stopped
"Wait you're not joking- I thought this was one of the sick games that you play"
Flash stepped closer to me
F: "Cmon we're both smokin' hot-"
Y/n: "Debatable"
F: "We're both in the decathlon team-"
Y/n: "So are me and Abe but I'm not going with him"
F: "Hey and I'm gonna have a dope car to go in- so..."
y/n: "so... I'd rather jump off a cliff then go to homecoming with you"

I said and started to walk away. Flash grabbed my hand
"Why not there's so much for me to love."
Flash said and I sighed.
"Just leave me alone I don't want to go with you"
I said and crossed my arms over my chest.
"I'm doing you a popularity favor. Remember your my second choice, come on just go with me"

Before I could say anything peter walked over. My lifesaver.
"I'm done here flash"
I said and walked away with peter.
Flash was saying something but I just ignored him.

"You guys saved me. Thank you"
I said to Ned and Peter

"Oh yeah no problem but um-"
Peter started to say but before he could finish the rest of what he was going to say the school bell rang.

"Oh- uh I should go- sorry."
Peter said and walked away

"Saved by the bell dude"
I heard Ned say
Huh weird...
