I felt sick as Eve hung the banner up. Dandy didn't waste any time to buy a banner for himself. It said:

"The Charismatic Crooner Dandy Mott Sings Cole Porter!"

I gagged at his overly confident attitude.

"It needs to be perfect, Amazon Woman! I will not have my banner looking crooked!" Dandy barked.

I scoffed and walked away.

"Melanie!" Someone called out. I turned around and saw Penny running towards me.

I smiled. "Hey Penny," I greeted.

"Hey Mel. That Dandy guy is a real piece of work, huh?" She asked.

"You've got no idea. He's a literal man child," I chuckled.

"Maybe we can overthrow him. Make him leave," she suggested.

"We're gonna have to if he doesn't become more understanding and realistic with his demands. He wants to change my entire act to make me sing with him," I explained.

"Ha. Real funny," she said sarcastically.

I chuckled and kept walking to the main tent.

"Ready for practice?" I asked her.

"No. Not at all," she said.

We sat down inside and chatted for a few minutes about random music we heard and flicks we've seen. We talked over Dandy, who was complaining that the music wasn't in time with his singing.

Suddenly, Dandy started walking towards Paul. Penny and I jumped up to see what was happening.

"How many tickets have we sold since my banner went up?" Dandy asked.

Eve and Paul looked confused. "We hung it up twenty minutes ago...," Eve said.

"So? How many tickets?" Dandy demanded.

"Well we've sold none. But usually people buy tickets at lunch time-" Paul began.

"None?! None?! Did you idiots hang the sign up right?" Dandy asked angrily.

We all looked around at each other in shock.

"You need to give it some time," Ima said.

"Shut up, fatty. How have we not sold any tickets?" He asked.

"Hey! Calm down, Dandy," I warned.

"What are you gonna do, Lobster Girl?" He asked.

I punched him in the face. He fell down and groaned. He looked shocked.

"I'll tell you what I can do. I can quit," I said.

"Yeah. We all quit," Desiree said, coming up from behind us.

"Fuck you, Dandy. No matter how hard you try, you'll never be one of us," Paul said and spat in his face.

We all left the tent. "What are we gonna do?" Ima asked.

"No idea," I answered.

"Well he has no performers. He'll either give up the show or beg us to come back," Eve explained.

"Can he kick us out?" Paul asked.

"That would be the dumbest thing for him to do. He'll never get any performers if he keeps acting the way he is," Suzi said.

"True, true. He won't act like this for too long. We'll get our jobs back. Don't worry," Paul said with a reassuring smile.

"I'm gonna go check on Jimmy. I'll see you guys later, okay?" I asked.
