Keith

"Have you guys seen a tall lanky guy named Lance?" Keith asked the group of teens in the Library. They cocked a brow at Keith and shook their heads no. Keith thanked them and sighed. "Any luck?" Lotor asked the worried pale boy. "No, not one person I've asked has seen him today and I'm getting somewhat worried." He mumbled and fiddled with his fingers.

"Normally Lance would be pulled to me if he's too far but I don't know what's wrong with the chain." Keith looked at his wrist and saw the glowing chain, only visible to him. "Maybe something happened to him." Lotor says.

Keith hummed in response. "Hopefully he'll be back after school." Keith and Lotor walked back to the cafeteria and saw their friends waiting for them. Before Pidge could ask if they had any luck, Lotor answered knowing that's exactly what she was about to ask. "Wasn't he in the same class as you guys?" Allura asked. Hunk nodded. "We walked out of class and talked for a bit, and then when I turned around to ask him a question he was gone." Hunk explained. The group exchanged worried looks and they took a quick glance at Keith.

He had his fingers running through his hair and breathing somewhat heavily. "What if something happened to him?" Keith mumbled, "What if someone stole him?"

"That would be most likely impossible." Pidge deadpanned. "He's powerful enough to take care of himself and besides he would've been dragged to you."

The others agreed, but that didn't stop Keith's mind from wandering place to place. So many questions were going through his mind and he didn't know how to cope with it. He knows by heart Lance could take care of himself, but Lance was his demon. He will do anything to protect him. He may have a little tiny infatuation on the demon but it'll fade eventually when he leaves.

The bell rung and the group dispersed. For the rest of the school day Keith couldn't focus at all. His friends tried to help him focus on other things but he couldn't. The chain continuously glowed but it wasn't bringing Lance to him. As the final bell rung, Keith basically dashed out the school and ran home. He has to learn more about the chain and understand it.

Not seeing nor hearing the cocky demon mortifies him. It's something Keith didn't think would happen. Once he got to his front porch he opened the door and saw Shiro and Matt talking. "Hey Keef." Matt said jokingly. Keith huffed out a hey and closed the door.

"Where's Lance?" Shiro asked. "I don't know." Keith sighed, "He disappeared during school and I couldn't find him."

"Who the fluck is Lance?" Matt raised a brow and crossed his arms. "Can I tell him?" Shiro clasped his hands together and did puppy eyes. Keith groaned and eventually agreed. "Lance is Keith's demon. He's only staying for a couple of weeks." Shiro said. Before Matt could say anything Shiro placed a kiss on his cheek. "Don't freak out."

"Gross." Keith stuck his tongue out and started walking up the stairs. "Where you going Keef?"

"I gotta learn more about the chain me and Lance have." Keith answered and closed his room door. He heard voices but were muffled by the wooden door. He exhaled and flopped on the bed. He pulled the demon book from underneath his pillow and started reading about the chain.

"The chain, also known as a Bound, is something only the master and the demon can see. It'll glow when your demon is about to pulled towards you and it'll start burning when you need to give your demon a command." Keith groaned because he already knew that. He wants to know why his demon isn't be pulled towards him when the chain is practically glowing brighter than a fucking star.

"If your chain is glowing and your demon isn't being pulled to you it's because...."

"Because what?!" Keith yelled and flipped to the other side of the page. It was blank. "Are you fucking kidding me?!" Keith glared at the book and nearly chucked it out the window. "How are you going to start that sentence and not finish it?!"

He huffed and rubbed his eyes. He took a glance at his glowing chain. He slowly hovered the glowing chain on the blank page and words slowly started to appear. "Whoa, now that's a good way to hide some secret information." He grinned.

"If your chain is glowing and your demon isn't be pulled towards you it's because your demon is in a meeting. Your chain may be strong enough to pull your demon towards you in your world, but when your demon is in hell there's no way to bring them back unless they come back themselves."

Keith's breath hitched. "So Lance is at a meeting and he won't be back unless he comes back himself." He mumbled to himself.

He slowly closed the book and slid it back under his pillow. He laid down and stared at the blank ceiling with an expressionless face. Keith felt tears welling in his eyes. What if Lance didn't want to come back? What if Lance wanted to stay in hell until his two weeks were over? What if h-

"What's with the tears mullet?"

Keith jumped and sat up. He saw Lance with his usual smirk. "Someone cursed you or something? I can get rid of them for you, just say the word." He chuckled and floated down.

Keith had a shocked expression which didn't change until a few minutes later. He wiped away his tears. "What was the meeting about?"

"Oh basic demon stuff." He said with a nervous smile. "Why were you crying?" He asks.

"No reason." Keith answered and stared at his hands. "Keith you do know I'm here for you, right?"

Keith nodded slowly. "I know."

"Who hurt you? I'll kill them for ya and make sure they get a hell of a punish in hell." Lance laughed at his little joke. Keith rolled his eyes. "It's just I thought someone took you or something. And when I found out that the chain couldn't bring you back from your meeting unless you came back yourself I just felt hurt I guess." Keith explained with a dry chuckle.

"Why? Did you think I wouldn't come back?" Lance sat next to Keith and stared at him with his brows furrowed. Keith nodded. "Why would you think that?"

"I just thought I wasn't being a good master or whatever." He bit his lip.

Lance smiled softly and hugged Keith. "You're the best master I could've ever asked for and I'm starting to get a little heated down here."

Keith sighed and rolled his eyes. "Way to ruin the moment. My brother and his boyfriend are downstairs so don't be loud." Keith got on his knees and looked up at Lance. He gave him a smile and gestured for him to go on. Let's just say after that Shiro almost bust the door down.
