chapter 12

Tris POV:

I turn around in my kitchen with my glass of water, when a gage suddenly covers my mouth. My eyes widen as I try to scream, but it only comes out as muffled. Then a bag it though over my head and I cant see, my glass shatters on the ground. I thrash hoping to hit my attacker. But then I feel hands grab both my arms, and then around my waist picking my up. I try to kick and scream. There are more than one. And then I feel something sharp stab into my arm, it pinches at my muscles and then I go numb, limp and then black.

Tobias POV:

When I wake up I don't feel Tris' warm body next to me, groggy from sleep, I stretch out my arm to search for her, but she's not there, and the blankets are stone cold, were is she. I sit up, a little more awake now. Maybe she's just in the kitchen, or the bathroom I try to reassure myself. I call out "Tris?" No answer. I get up and look for my clothes to get dressed, I find my jeans but my shirt is missing, Tris must be wearing it. But we're is she. I walk into the kitchen, looking for her. But instead on finding Tris, I find a note.

You will come willingly erudite head quarters, and you will meet me at my office at 12:00am exactly. If you want to get her back safely you will follow my simple requests

come alone Come unarmed And tell no one of this meeting or the circumstances of how it came to be.

Jeanine

I put the note down on the table. Jeanine has Tris. When did they come and take her?! I don't remember hearing any sounds? This is all my fault! I look at the clock. It reads 6:30, I have all day till it says to come. 12:00am. What if they hurt her? But this is jeanine. She doesn't hurt any one, she torments them, and she untangles their brain strand by strand to understand the inner workings of her victims mind. She's worked out that Tris is divergent, she's going to test her to her body can no longer function. This is why she came searching though her house. This is why she wanted me to hear that conversation the other day. But how are Eric and Marcuse connected to it. They have no desire to torment Tris? They both hate me. so why do they care? i'll find out tonight.
