chapter 9 (part 3)

Erics POV:

Finally! That old man is gown! I replay the last thing he said before we thew him over the edge of the chasm. "Why Eric?! You have everything you wanted? I never did anything to harm you? Why? I should have listened to Four! He warned me about you! And I didn't listen! Look were that got me" he spits, I laugh "DON'T YOU GET IT? Jeanine doesn't need you any more and besides..." I lower my voice into a whisper and crouch down next to him, he's hanging onto the railings, clutching on for dear life. "We both know Four was always your favourite and I'm tiered of being second choice" his eyes widen, and I kick him over the ledge. Im brought out of my dais when I get to the trains, I jump on with ease and head for erudite Head Quarters, were I have a meeting with jeanine. She doesn't know I have been pointed to be the new dauntless leader, even though that was always the plan. Thats why Max died. To get him out of the way. He was a nuisance and slowed all of our goals down, I mean, it took almost 9 months to change his mind bout the initiates training program. And he was always quick to catch on to what the real reason to why I wanted to change things, though he was so naive, he had no clue I was working with jeanine. I look out the train car and see the erudite section of the city coming into view. I jump off and run towards Jeanines office.

Jeanines POV:

I am waiting patiently for Eric to arrive, he has been quite useful. He has been working for me for maybe 3 1/2 years now? Yes, that seems about right. I look at the clock. 1:39pm. He's late. I Hate it when he's late. He does not respect that I have a very tight schedule. At that moment a black mass bursts through my office door. Eric. "Glad you decided to join me." I say. "Im sorry I was late Jeanine, I got help up with max's death and everything, but I do have exiting news." He quickly explains. He disgusts me, he's like a puppy begging for attention or validation. But I have to deal with it if I plan on over taking government from abnegation, and I can only do that if I either wage war on abnegation, which would be illogical and a wait of materials and surprise or I could gain favour of all the factions. If I can get dauntless on my side then candour will favour me over abnegation, and amity is already easy to get control of, I can simply cut off their supplies and they will have to vote for erudite. It Really isn't as hard as I thought it would be. But it has taken a long time with max in the way. Luckily I sent Eric on a Mission to fix that, if only I had thought of it sooner. "So Eric, Tell me, how did your..." I take a breath to clear my thought "task go?" I ask sceptically. "Better than expected actually" he confirms "you should have seen his face, he looked so betrayed and..." he trails off, I shake my head, I can see hurt in his eyes form what he was thinking. This is exactly why human nature should be exterminated. It only brings hurt and pain to the human race, and it is extremely illogical and benefits no one. "Yes, but did you leave any traces? Did my body guards help you to... disperse... of the annoyance." We have decided not to use names in this room or anywhere ells, Eric informed me that there were cameras all over Chicago city, I was outraged that I did not know of this before, but soon realised that they could be used to our advantage. The dauntless are not exactly the smartest of people, and are most serenely not known for their tech skills. There security system was quite easy to hack, I, infect now have access to the cameras. I get back to the conversation. "So is there anything ells you wish to update me on?" I ask "yes. I have been appointed leader of dauntless, I start on Tuesday." I new that "Is there anything ells" I ask exasperated. "Well, yes. You know that prior girl you have been interested in?" Were is he going with this? "Yes, I do know her, her aptitude results were... interesting" Miss priors aptitude results were entered manually, which I find strange since as I recall all the computers the test was administrated on were in top condition and there should have been no need for it. "You see, she came first in her initiates class which is very strange for a stiff, and i belive she may be divergent..." I also new that "and that other guy you were interested in, Tobias Eaton, he has actually taken a special liking to her... if you know what I mean?" he says wiggling his eyebrows. God, He does discussed me. "How very interesting..." this could be useful. My other colleague will be most interested in this information. I feel it will help his course. He wishes to take revenge on his son for leaving him. Though I think his son had valid reason to leave. My colleague thinks I am just here to help him because I feel the same way about his son, though really his mind just intrigues me, I want to know more about it. We have made the deal that he would get to torture his son and his loved ones - I find it sick that he wishes to do so, but I must confess, I do understand the desire to hurt another, though I would go about it differently - and in Exchange for my help, he will give me his son for testing. I intend to test both Miss Prior and Mr Eaton. This shall be fun. "Will that be all?" I ask, content with this meeting. "Yes, thats all the news I've got for you unfortunately" "well then I believe that concludes our meeting."
