Several days had gone by since he'd embed this treacherous tattoo upon my figure. I awoke; there existed no light, merely darkness embedding into my sights from the enclosing space. The Troupe leader became kinder to me ever since the Spider settled me inside this room. Next, following the door opening and someone stepping in, a modest triumph of knocks sounded within my labyrinths. My orbs spurted toward the entrance immediately; I'd already propped myself up to a perching posture. I perceived it was Chrollo, considering the previous few days he continued coming here, attempting to feed me- though I disdain to eat anything they deliver to me. He's been nursing my injuries regularly, though I demur for him not too. Gaits melodically waltzed within my hearing, the tracks growing closer, before developing to cessation at the side of the mattress.
"How are you feeling, Kurapika?" Chrollo articulated to me, while insignificantly bending down to seat a drink of liquid onto the petite bedside desk, the Spider took a miniature case of lucifers from his blazer and ignited the taper adjacent to the glass containing the fluid. I swallowed, peeping at it; my throat developed a sense of dryness, cautioning me that I was dehydrated. I felt fuzzy. It nearly acted like anything that happened wasn't occurring as it transpired. "I'm fine," I muttered through gritted teeth to him, in a somewhat snappy tone. He wasn't driven aback by it and plucked up the libation after slipping the matchsticks to his pocket, arranging the straw before my lips. His finger brushed against my lips as they separated to take a sip. I studied his features and then peeped into the cup; I took the most dehydrated sip, approximately emptying the entire drink in merely one gulp. Chrollo flitted a soft microexpression of a grin before removing the straw mindfully and gently apart from my portrait.
I hadn't showered since I'd stayed here. Furthermore, considering the phantom troupe leader has been kind presently, I could conceivably take advantage of this and query.
"Do you think I could perhaps take a shower?" I inquired. My pitch was more undoubted and less enervated, considering the water had taken away the aridity in my esophagus. It stood meriting the odds to ask, even if he did spurn the opportunity. I felt nauseated with myself for even admitting that I'd have to ask the one person I despised to do something, like take a bath. I shivered at the idea, recognizing I was hopeless, knowing that it was all inevitable. What did I ponder when I mapped this all out? How did I not suspect it to convert this way? I reflected for a moment as Chrollo set down the half-empty mug on the table. A lingering suspension of quietness splayed among us as I anticipated a reply.
"Solely under one condition." Chrollo vocalized; after moments of silence, I perked up, hearkening to his formulation.
"That I will be in there with you," The more mature male conversed smoothly and poised in his answer; he looked at my optics as my orbs widened. No individual had ever viewed me exposed before. It would be uncomfortable. Chrollo appeared to have accumulated off of my response since he resembled slightly jolted too. Who knows what could occur in there, after what's transpired here previously. He has provided me no reason to trust him. Nevertheless, I additionally can't expect him to not state something as such.
"So, you can't escape." the Spider elaborated his terms further to me. I prevailed silent; merely at the image of him performing something else, I couldn't understand for sure in depth what his plans for me genuinely were even if I did make the request. There wasn't an individual bone in my intact body that could prompt me ever to trust him. I perched hushed, imagining further, as he stood and scrutinized me. Still, if nothing happens, then I would've seized the moment, exerting sufficient benefit of it. By being this skeptical, it won't convey me anywhere. I yearn to get him to the position of trust, where I can sojourn, unchained- moreover, once this happens. I'll proceed to massacre every last member, as they did my clan.
author's x note:
Hey, haha- sorry I have such an irregular post schedule... I feel bad for not being able to upload as much as I wish to. As you all know, I do suffer from some mental health struggles, and it's hard and shit. But I'm trying to pull through, lol. BUT HEY. Look at this as evidence that I have been working on the chapters :)) If you're thinking, "Is this all,, like all, they've done the entire time?"No, I've done a very decent amount more; I want to leave a little teaser till the next or final part of the chapter. My posting schedule might be like this for a bit. But if you've also noticed, the chapters have been growing larger too, so of course, they will require a little more time.I set the goal of trying to get a chapter out every 1-2 weeks. But sometimes it just takes longer(1-4 weeks more realistically).
