Amaya

I didn't want to see these people yet. It was too soon, I had just been told that my parents weren't my parents and now I was standing in front of the kids that they chose to keep.

"Pensez-vous que c'est vrai?" the princess asked the prince still looking at me. I had taken french from middle to high school, when I spoke it was bad but I could still understand. She had asked her brother if he thought this was true.

"Je ne sais pas, mais elle ressemble à papa" the prince answered, looking at me closer. He responded saying I looked like their father. Did they not know about me?

"Where are you from?" the prince asked walking toward me, I could feel his aura that was strong but not enough to make me feel scared. We looked each other in the eye, both unwilling to back down.

"Greenfield, Nebraska," I said, still looking him in his eyes. His eyes widened as he slowly backed away.

"How old are you?" he asked in a hushed tone almost like a whisper.
"I just turned eighteen" I answered confused

"Est-ce vraiment elle ?" the princess asked, holding her hands close to her face.
"Je pensais que c'était un mensonge" the prince said looking at me as if I was an old friend.
"What is going on? What are you saying" Jasper asked, walking between us.

"So it's true. I'm you sister?" I said seeing their reactions didn't make it hard to see that they thought I was gone.

"I think you should sit down so we can explain," the princess said in a worried tone. I look at Jasper and turn back to them as I start to walk to one of the sofas and they walk to the opposite one.

"Look we thought it was a rumor like everyone else did, our parents told us the truth a few years ago." the prince said.
"What is the truth?" Jasper asked as he sat next to me.

"Our parents did give up a child but it's not for the reasons you think so." the prince continued.

"When two different creatures have children most of the time the children will be one of the creatures but on the off chance that one of the children is mixed they would be in danger."

"Our parents had me first, I'm a werewolf just like our father. Then they had Brandon and Isabel who are both witches just like our mother. But there was another kid, a hybrid. During our mother's third pregnancy she was very ill so not many people saw her and fewer knew she was pregnant. After she gave birth she had a spell cast to see whether the child was a werewolf or a witch. It was a hybrid, so she had to send it away and tell everyone the baby was stillborn. But no one believed that." the princess said

"But why send her away? Isn't the alpha queen a hybrid?" Jasper asked. I could feel him slowly coming closer to me to try and calm me down.

"Because as a kid the alpha queen got kidnapped so many times, thrown into dungeons and other horrible things and that's only what the werewolves did to her. Imagine what the witches did. Our mother was trying to save you from all of that pain." the princess told me.

I know there were good intentions behind giving me up but I was still given up. The differences that I saw with my family were true. They had left me, let me think I was someone who I wasn't.

"I think I need some time" I stood up saying. Jasper stood up right next to me and put his hands on my lower back.

"Alone," I said looking him in the eyes. I walked out of the room and walked to the training yard and walked into the woods.
All of the feelings of abandonment, loneliness, and unwantedness. There were feelings that I couldn't understand, they swarmed my insides. I wanted to cry and scream and just disappear.

I let out a scream that made the trees sway, the harder I screamed the harder they fell. I dropped to the ground in tears, why could these powers leave? Why couldn't these feelings go away? I thought to myself.

I stayed on the ground not moving for however long just in my mind. My mind went blank and I stared into the trees, I could sense Jasper coming close to me.

"Amaya! Amaya?" he yelled coming closer, he bent down onto the ground where I was. I didn't think he was very worried because he could see me breathing in and out.

"Oh god baby I didn't mean for this to happen," he said sitting on the ground next to me.

"What did you expect to happen? I'm the royal mistake" I said as a sarcastic joke but ended up touching my heart more than I had intended it to.

"No, you're not, they gave you away to protect you," he said, trying to make me feel better but it didn't.

"Look, I just need to be alone and you need to give that to me," I said standing up and walking back to the palace. I know that they were put in a difficult place but knowing the people who raised me weren't even from their world makes it worse.
