finding love victoriously

chapter 6

 Beck is trying to convince me not to tell Sinjin, and to let Jade tell him herself, but I know she's not going to. I know she would rather leave the country then tell Sinjin that he is the father of her unborn child.

I know that she would rather get an abortion then tell Sinjin that he's going to be a father.

Sinjin, the guy she claims she would rather die than talk to.

The guy she claims deserves to be shunned by everyone.

I know that Jade would rather kill herself then admit to Sinjin what she needs to tell him.

So, I gave Beck a time limit, One week. If he can convince Jade to tell Sinjin herself I will stay out of it, but if by the end of the week he can't convince her, then I will tell Sinjin myself.

This little argument is driving a wedge between us, because of our different views on the same topic, but we're working on it. 

 The week is going by slowly and since Beck is trying to make sure that Jade not only keeps the baby, but tell Sinjin, he's spending a lot of time with her. Which is also driving a wedge between us.

It's Wednesday before I get tired of Beck not spending any amount of time with me. I call him and ask to hang out, but he says no, because he's with Jade. That made me super mad.

So he'd rather spend time with Jade, the girl who tried to trick him in to being with her because of a kid that wasn't his, than me, his girlfriend who helped him see that he was being lied to. 

I started screaming at him through the phone, talking about what an ungrateful boyfriend he is, and admittedly sounding a lot like Jade in the process.

I hear him tell Jade that he's got to go, the  door slams shut, I hear him breathe then another door close, it sounded like a car door. He doesn't speak until I hear the engine start.

"Tori, are you okay babe?"

"I'm trying to be, I really am, but we haven't spend any time together since the day we found out Jade was pregnant with Sinjin's kid, You spend all your time with her, even in lunch you sit with her Beck, when we work in groups, you work with her, it feels like it did before you broke up. It feels like you guys are together, and I'm just the best friend watching the guy she loves with his girlfriend. What happened Beck, why are we spending so much time apart?"

"Babe,I'm sorry, I didn't realize you felt that way, I was just trying to get Jade to tell Sinjin about the kid, which she agreed to do by the way, just before you called, she called him, and told him to meet her tomorrow in the black box."

"So we can spend more time together?" I asked hopeful.

"Yeah. Do you want to hang out tomorrow?"

"Sure, I'll text you the...OH Crap!" Beck shouts, and I hear the sound of screeching tires, and a crash.

"Beck? Are you okay?" I ask frantically.

There was no answer.

"Beck? What happened?" I ask again.

He still didn't answer.

"Beck? Beck, where are you?" I ask hoping he would answer.

I hear him groan, and tell me where he was. I tell him to stay there and call the ambulance.

I call Jade seeing as he was two blocks away from her and tell  her to check on him, see what happens. She agrees and hangs up, while I grab the keys to my car.

As I'm turning the car on, Jade calls, sounding frantic, "He was in a car crash, There is an ambulance on the way he says. There's a family in the other car, there's a little kid Tori, What do I do?"

"Stay right there, I'm on my way, make sure everyone is okay, but that they stay where they are until professionals get there." As I finish that sentence I hear Sirens from her end of the line. I hear as she's talking to someone, and they tell her that everyone is going to be taken to the hospital. She says she'll drive behind them, then she tells me what's going on.

"I'll meet you at the hospital." I tell her and hang up, driving straight to the hospital.

This is all my fault, he got in this accident because I was being unreasonable. If I hadn't been arguing with him, he wouldn't have stormed out of Jade's house, and he wouldn't have been in the car crash.

My boyfriend is in the hospital because of me. I tried to keep my tears in, but it wouldn't happen, they stream down my face as they please.

When I get to the hospital, I look for Jade, who is sitting in the waiting room, with her head in her hands.

"What have they said?" I asked.

"Nothing yet, I called his parents, they'll be here soon, everyone else will be here too." She mumbled.

"This is my fault. This is all my fault." I told myself again.

"Vega, this is not your fault. Beck knows better than to be on the phone while driving, He always yelled at me for doing it, and I bet he yelled at you too for it. He did this knowingly,I'm not saying he got in a crash on purpose, but I know it's not your fault. Don't be too hard on yourself."

"But if it wasn'tfor me, he would still be safely at your house, trying to convince you to tell Sinjin. If it wasn't for me, he wouldn't be here, this is all my fault. I know it is. "

"Look, Vega, you know I don't like you, so it's not like I'm trying to be your friend when I say this, but it seriously wasn't your fault, whether you had been arguing with him or not, he was following all the rules of the road, It was the guy in the other car who crossed a red light because he was apparently texting his mistress. It was the cheaters' fault not yours, don't blame yourself please, Beck wouldn't want you to be blaming yourself. He loves you, very much. So much it makes me sick the way he never shuts up about you, and how you make his day, and he's glad he met you. No matter what we're talking about he finds a way to bring you up. If I talk about a dog, 'Oh yeah, Tori wants a dog, but her parents won't let her get one, maybe if we get married I'll get her one.' If I mention the beach, 'Me and Tori first kissed during a carnival in the beach, Christmas day.' He wouldn't want you to beat yourself up over it."

"How can I not? And why are you being nice to me?"

"I'm being nice to you, because I know how you feel, I love Beck, but he clearly loves you, and I trust his judgment, so if he fell in love with you and not me it's for all the right reasons. I trust that If we were meant to be, we would have found a way by now. You and Beck are meant to be. I would rather have Beck by my side as a friend than not have him at all, and I know that if I want to stay in his life, even if it's just as a friend, I have to be nice to you. Don't worry about me though, I'm done trying to take him, I have a kid I need to take care off, and an unknowing father I have to inform of his unborn kid. "

"So your giving him up?"

"I'm letting him go, so he can be with the girl he loves. I'd rather him be happy with you than miserable with me. I'm sure you would have done the same thing, seeing as you're a better person than me. Anyways, I have to go tell Sinjin about my pregnancy, before I change my mind, call me when you figure out how he is." I just nod speechless, as I watch her walk away. 

Was that really Jade? I wonder before I sit, and wait for somebody, anybody to come and tell me what's going on with Beck.

Beck's parents get here, followed by Andre, then Cat and Robbie got here at the same time. They asked what happened and I told them what I knew and how it was all my fault. Like Jade, they all tried to convince me that it wasn't my fault, but I refuse to believe that. I know it's my fault. Nothing they say can convince me otherwise.

 We wait in silence then for about an hour before a doctor comes out and asks for Becks Oliver's family. We all stand up as Becks parents get up and walk towards the gray haired, blue eyed doctor.

"Is Beck okay?" His parents ask.

"Well..." The Doctor says looking at his chart.
