A month later,

Artemis yanked the hood lower on her head, the cotton fabric hiding most of her face as she focused her black eyes on the pavement her boots clicked against with each step. She listened closely as the male continued to talk on his phone, not paying attention to his surroundings- or the threat slowly making its way towards him.

She slinked forward, secretly putting her step outside of her space just in time for the male to trip over her foot and crash against her shoulder.

"What on earth-"

Artemis gasped as she staggered back, her impending fall coming to a stop as the male grabbed her elbow to hold her in place, "Oh my god." She breathed out as she steadied her posture, letting her hood fall back exposing her face, black almond eyes companied by a red smile and flustered cheeks coming into the night view, the streetlamp creating shadows across her face while it shone directly into the male's one.

"Wow, lady- are you okay?" The male let go of her arm and she chuckled breathlessly, her cheeks flaming with embarrassment,

"I'm so sorry for crashing into you. I have an eye condition- and well- the night i-it's just not helping me." She took a step sideways shyly, her hands going to her pockets as she bit her lip, the guy's eyes zeroing on the movement which she noticed,

She flashed him a soft smile before taking a step away from the male, "My friend's waiting for me- a-again sorry for crashing into you."

"I'm Tony. What's your name?"

Artemis resisted the urge to roll her eyes, her patience wearing thinner as the second passed by, "Rebekah- s-so nice to meet you but I gotta meet up with my friend... bye!" She dashed across the streets before the male could stop her, awkwardly waving at him for good measure before she turned a corner, her act dropping instantly as she fished out his wallet from her pocket,

"Well, Mr. Stark. Let's see if you are as brilliant as you make yourself out to be."

"That was kind of awkward, dude." Her ears were filled with the familiar voice of her friend, Ivy.

"I think the whole stuttering sold it." Artemis smirked as she once again, brought the hood over her flaming red hair, her face hiding back in the safety of the shadows.

"That was my favorite part." Ivy laughed into Artemis earpiece while the woman continued to cross the street,

Artemis found herself in front of the new Stark Tower, her eyes focusing on the huge building as she tried to find a way inside without alerting anyone.

"I'm outside." Artemis whispered as she unzipped her jacket, folding it and put it behind a bush, a bottom-up shirt coming into view, while her legs were covered in dress pants. Her hair quickly put up into a bun, while her feet stayed the same with her heeled boots.

"I'm good to go."

"Good. The cameras picked up Agent Coulson a block down from your position, he is supposed to stop by the tower in thirty seconds, according to his last message. Catch a ride with him."

"Done."

Artemis put on a smile just as a car stopped by the curb, she moved to open the door, clumsily tripping on her feet and Agent Coulson swiftly stepped out of the car to help her,

"Oh my god- my first day and I'm already making a fool out of myself." She face-palmed as she walked inside and Agent Coulson chuckled,

"I'm sure that's not true." They moved across the floor and into an elevator, Coulson pressed the top floor while she pressed the tenth one.
