A special evening,
Artemis looked down at herself, a red shirt with black skinny jeans adorning her milky skin while her favorite black heels clicked with her every move.
She bit her lip as she adjusted the hem of her shirt, secretly hiding a strap filled with knives on her right thigh, her hair curled expertly to frame her face, not her usual mane of curls.
Artemis smirked to herself as she passed by her full-length mirror, not looking back as she walked out of her room and into the silent hallway.
"Well look at that. I'd say you look hot, but Pepper would hit me... again."
Artemis turned around to glance at Tony, a petite blonde female beside him shaking her head in exasperation,
"Thanks, Tony." Artemis smiled before she moved inside the open elevator, once inside turning around to face the happy pair, "Bye."
"No funny business! Tell him to keep his hands to himself and be back by ten!" Tony started bellowing and Artemis rushed to press the close doors button, her eyes going to Pepper as she urged the woman to hold him back,
Pepper smiled to herself as she grabbed his arm, Tony turning to get her off from him and Artemis smiled as the doors closed just in time.
"Would you like me to send a message to Mr. Rogers, Miss?" JARVIS voice resonated through the elevator as she rode down with the background music,
"No need, JARVIS. He's supposed to be waiting outside... unless he is standing me up." Artemis patted her hair down as the lobby grew closer,
"I assure you, Miss. He is right outside."
Artemis smiled at that, her eyes going to the number on top of the door,
Three
Two
One
And she was confidently strutting down the lobby towards the front door of Stark Tower (who was still in the process of fixing the damage caused by the battle),
"Have fun Miss." JARVIS voice followed her down, and her fingers curling around the bars of the front door with a smile,
"Thanks, JARVIS."
She opened the door with a smirk, her eyes taking in the sight of Steve leaning against his bike with his warm smile,
"Hey..." He pushed away, his hands inside his pockets shyly as his eyes roamed her figure, "You look beautiful."
Artemis smiled for once, her heart leaping inside her chest as his eyes stopped on her red lips, "You look handsome yourself."
Steve's smile never left his face as he motioned for her to climb onto his bike, letting her drive for the second time just so he could see her breathtaking smile.
Soon they were pulling up on a busy street, her black eyes looking around to figure out what they could be doing here,
"I asked Tony for a restaurant that wasn't fancy, he mentioned this place."
Karla's Burger Joint stood proudly in the evening sky, the sun beginning to rest on the horizon as its rays gleamed against the glass windows of the place,
Artemis turned to Steve with a smile, her eyes shining brightly, "I love it. I'm actually glad we didn't go someplace fancy- a good burger and fries are the key to my heart..." She looked up at him for a second, her face turning sultry as she suddenly pulled at her bottom lip with her teeth, "And pants."
Steve choked on air at her words, his eyes widening in surprise at her unfiltered invitation, he stuttered to get a coherent thought out, and Artemis curled her arm around his, easily pulling him inside the restaurant with a huge smile on her face, enjoying the effect she had on him,
People turned to stare at them, their faces pulling thoughtfully to try and figure out why the seemed too familiar, but both heroes didn't pay them any mind, they were too busy staring at their date to even notice the whispers and stares,

After a few hours of eating, chatting, flirting, and laughing,
Artemis moved beside Steve, his arm draped on her shoulders which she enjoyed the most while her arm was curled around his torso,
"I saved you once." Artemis blurted out as soon as the thought arose in her head, her face staring straight ahead while Steve glanced down at her in confusion,
"I didn't know who you were..." Artemis sighed before she moved to sit on a bench, the park around them dark and silent, "Let me explain. I used to get texts of to-be-victims before I joined you guys. I had to prevent hurt from occurring to innocent people targeted by this strange company. I've traveled around, making sure people didn't get hurt and you were my last. I haven't gotten a text since." Artemis wrung her fingers together, waiting for his reaction to her,
"What did the texts say?" Steve looked down at her worried, his mind running a thousand miles per minutes,
"Just the address of the victim. I had to go to the nearest public landmark where I would meet a person who usually gives me the rest of the information, like who the victim is, exact location, routine, how much time they had before I had to step in." Artemis turned to him, her brows pulled together as a thought occurred to her, "You were targeted by the same company as everyone else. I don't know who they are but my last... friend almost found out. She said it had a red logo, and they had something to do with my past and how I came to have powers."
Steve's jaw clenched before he looked away from her, "That sounds an awful lot like HYDRA."
Artemis' lips parted, her mind reeling at that, "Does that mean that SHIELD were the ones sending me the texts? How did they know where HYDRA was going to hit next? Why weren't they stepping in?"
"I don't know," Steve muttered, both of their faces tightening as more thoughts and questions rose between them,
Their date just got more interesting.
