We ended up staying at Samuel's house late into the night. Alexander and Eliza went to the bathroom for half an hour. Samuel and I waited for them and tried to forget what had happened on the streets.
Suddenly, he lurched forward and pressed his lips onto my own. I jumped, startled, then returned it. He put him hand on my back and lowered me down onto the couch. I wove my hand through his soft hair.
(I'm going to be 100% honest. I have no clue what I'm writing. Feel free to voice your thoughts on the incorrect crap, haha.)
He broke away looking at me with wonder in his eyes. He then gasped and scrambled off, allowing me to sit up. He then awkwardly sat beside me silently.
"What wrong?" I asked, glancing to my right to see him.
"I can't engage in... In intercourse until we're married." He explained slowly, not looking at me.
"Me neither." I told him. One of my biggest fears is getting pregnant before getting married.
"Good." He sighed in relief. "But, does kissing count as intercourse?"
I pondered for a moment. "I don't think so."
"Are you sure?" He asked. At this time, Eliza giggled loud enough for us to hear.
"Eliza's not having intercourse before marriage." I shrugged, pointing with my thumb towards the bathroom. Samuel nodded in agreement, picking up my hand to plant a teasing kiss on it. I took his hand and wrapped his arms around my shoulder, scooting closer to him. When I did so, I went to kiss his cheek. Ironically enough, Samuel happened to turn his head to look at me. When he did, I ended up landing the kiss just above his lips. Both our faces turned red.
"That wasn't supposed to happen." I mumbled into my hands. He squeezed my shoulder, laughing. I buried my face in his shoulder and he patted the back of my head gently. As soon as I looked up, he kissed me again. I smiled while we were kissing, and he hugged me closer.
"Bianca, we should get—" Eliza started, walking out. She landed eyes on us and backed out of the living room. "Sorry! I'll, uh, I'll leave you to it."
I instantly pulled away and out a small bit of space between Samuel and I.
"No, no, Eliza, that's not what we were doing!" I objected.
"Sure." She rolled her eyes. "We should go home soon."
"Okay." I nodded, standing up. Both the men put on their coats, but Samuel this time had a dark gray coat. I decided to snag his blue one to sew it. Samuel had unwrapped my arm, wincing.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded, placing my scarf into a bowl of hot water to begin the long attempt to clean it. We all then started the walk to our house. York stayed there.
When we got there, Father was not waiting with a shotgun. I think he trusted Samuel and Alexander to protect us. Alexander opened to door for Eliza and I before Samuel could get to it. Most of the lights were off. The maids, my sisters, and parents were asleep. Samuel kissed my hand in farewell, a glint in his eyes. I grinned at him. Eliza and Alexander said their goodbyes, and we walked inside. The two of us walking into her room, containing our excitement. As soon as the door closed, we both let out hushed cries of happiness.
"I'm getting married next week!" She exclaimed quietly. I nodded happily, but she turned serious. "You and Samuel didn't do anything, right?"
"What do you mean?" I asked brows furrowing. She looked at me knowingly until it hit me. "No!"
"Good." Eliza sighed in relief.
"Did you and Alexander?" I asked. She shook her head.
"I'm going to sleep." She told me. "Goodnight, Bee."
"Goodnight." I smiled, going to sleep in my room.
