"There's not a lot to do here, is there?" Samuel sighed, sitting on the couch.
Without thinking, I spoke. "You should put on a dress."
Samuel's brown eyes snapped towards me in surprise. "What?"
"Have you ever worn a dress?" I asked, grinning.
"Not even when my sisters were babies." He shook his head.
"You have to put on a dress!" I exclaimed, standing up.
"Only if you wear this." He stood up as well, kissed me quickly, and led me to our room. I managed to find a dress big enough to possibly fit him.
"Corset?" I asked, nodded towards a corset in the wardrobe.
"Absolutely not." Samuel chuckled, handing me a men's outfit. It looked to be a size or two smaller than him. I handed him the dress I had chosen, and we went separate ways to change.
The shirt was an eggshell color, and the pants were black. The coat was his blue one, which I didn't know he had brought. The coat was a small bit bigger than the rest of the outfit, but that was fine. It smelled subtly of cinnamon. I then tied my hair behind my back with Eliza's blue ribbon and studied myself in the mirror.
This is much more comfortable than a dress. It feels so much lighter.
"Bianca?" Samuel called. "You ready?"
"Yes!" I called back, stepping out from the changing apparatus to see him standing stiffly in the dress. I burst out laughing. "You look ridiculous."
"How do you wear this everyday?" Samuel demanded.
"I'm asking myself that." I told him, giving a twirl, admiring the fact that I could actually see my legs.
"This is horrible." Samuel stared at me. "I'll be back in a moment."
He came back in a white shirt and dark grey knickers. He had fluffed his hair to it's regular style, since sleep had destroyed how it was yesterday.
"Feel better?" I asked, grinning.
"Very much." Samuel nodded, relieved.
"This so much better than wearing a dress." I told him, glancing down at my appearance again.
"Agreed." He grinned. "You should wear that for awhile, then you can actually experience how much better it is."
"I will." I scrunched my face at him, causing him to laugh. He passed me my shoes.
"Let's go outside, then." He suggested. I nodded, slipping my shoes on.
When he got outside, I took off running across the field.
"Really, Bianca?" Samuel exclaimed, taking off after me. Once he caught up, I felt his arms close around me, causing us both hurtling towards the ground. He quickly hugged my head to his chest. On impact, it wasn't as bad as the time we fell in an alley. We landed on unkept grass. I stood up and held my hand out to him.
"Are you okay?" I asked, a tiny smile on my face. He took my hand and held onto it after standing.
"Yeah." He nodded, brushing himself off with his free hand. I did the same.
"I wanted to run." I told him.
"I can tell." He huffed, looking up at the blue sky. I swung my arm across his left shoulder. He misinterpreted it and instinctively picked me up. "Is there a snake or something?"
"No." I shook my head, wrapping my arms around his neck so I didn't fall. "Just a sad attempt to give you a hug."
"Oh!" His ears turned red as he put me down. I hugged him, and he returned it. Even without his cost, he smelled faintly of cinnamon.
Once we departed, he pointed towards a towering oak tree.
"Have you ever climbed a tree?" Samuel asked. I shook my head. "Let's have a go with that one."
