this story is back for good

"you won't regret this, Jack is a great guy." Zach smiled showing off his perfect teeth, he was known for his perfection. He always made sure he was dressed nice and hair combed. He always matched and was the kind of guy to carry a mint and a pen in his pocket. He was smart and infact at top of our class competing against some other girl for the spot of class President. Zach was truly perfect, well almost.

He was a complete and udder fool when it came to love, and even the strangers in our neighborhood knew it. Zach was known for being a love sick puppy and he would find it from anyone he could get it from. Zachs past partners came in all shapes in sizes, fat, skinny and way too tall to be considered an average person. Some of them ridden in acne or a little too weird to hold a stable relationship, but the worst was his last relationship, one I refuse to even think of. Though zach was a love sick puppy I never would've thought he would've went this far, a boy with a terminal illness. He was setting him self up for trauma, and though it may sound harsh, but this might fix his little obsession with falling in love.

Because there was no helping him now, He was in knee deep.

The hospital looked just like any other except it was a little more lively. It was a Cancer research hospital so there was a lot of people there from patients to doctors and visitors. Unlike regular hospitals this one seemed more friendly upon seeing the community as soon as we stepped through the door. I even saw a group of teenagers walk by. Though I found myself rolling my eyes as jack led the way with a smile to his face. There was groups of teens and young adults around conversatibg and it was hard to tell who was sick among who was perfectly healthy. We walked down a long hallway narrow in nature. This hall smelt a bit different than the others we had passed, instead of being doused in heavy perfume and the odd smell of a highschool this one smelt off. A peculiar smell of medicine that was a bit strong that lingered in your nose and reminded you of a retirement home.Zach seemed to begin to shake with anxiety as we got close to the door 304.

I rolled my eyes sharing a glance with Emma, it wasn't like this was his first time. From what Zach had told us, he had been here a million times before, but this was the first time he had visited since they decided to be toghter. Since Zach had made his idiotic decision, we all knew the inevitable. He opened the door after knocking and the three of us walking inside, Emma heave a light smile. Inside a boy sat upright on the bed a notebook in hand a smile brighter than the sun. "ZACH!" He called out and Zach smiled running over and holding him. They held eachother for a quick moment before the boy looked at us and smiled. He stood up quickly and walked over a hand held out for one of us to take. Emma didn't hesitate and took it first reciprocating the smile. "Nice to finally meet you, My name is Emma." "My name is Jack, I've heard a ton, Zach really loves you two." He laughed slightly and my eyes trailed to Zach who had a smile and sat down on the bed. The boy had long brown curly hair and was as short as Zach, I rolled down at him lightly and couldn't help but chuckle, only Zach would manage to find a boy as short as him. "You're Corbyn? It's very nice to meet you." Jack said bring me from my thoughts. I nodded "nice to meet you as well." And with that Jack turned and walked to his bed after promptly shaking my hand. As the three conversated I took a seat on the bench against the wall beside jacks bed. Their room wasn't like a normal hospital room, it was large and had things like poster boards on the wall and a soccer ball on a nightstand. There was a television and a few figurines around the room. In the middle of the room there was a cut I that looked thin that cut the other room in half. As I focaused on the curtain I could hear a machine on the other side and loud breathing. The voice who breathed loud groaned aloud "Jack..Jac.." the voice sounded tired and it made me want to look away. "Oh one moment!" Jack said suddenly jumping from his bed he walked behind the curtain and Emma looked over to me then to Zach. "This is kinda depressing." She joked with a laugh and I chuckled as well, a smile grew to zachs face. "Let's go get something to eat maybe?" Emma asked and I nodded in agreement. Jack poked his head from around the curtain and looked at us "would you like to meet my roommate? I promise he's nice." He asked and I shook my head
hesitantly, this becoming too much for me. I couldn't stop thinking about what this whole new interaction and experience would lead to. It all pointed to death.

I stood up leaving the room adm walking down the hall to the first chair I could see. I dropped my head in my hands and let a heavy breath out shaking my head. This felt too depressing no matter how many times they smiled and pretended this was always going to be staring death in its face. "I know it's tough.." a voice spoke. I lifted my head to be met by Jack, his brown hair looked soft I couldn't help but notice all his features were that way as well. He had changed from his hospital gown and now wore a black short sleeved shirt a thin silver chain and black shorts that rose slightly above his knees. I noticed I had been here awhile by the way I saw the sun had set outside of the window. "This is just so.. it feels pretend. I want to get to know you but.. this hurts and I only have said hello." I muttered shaking my head trying to rid my conflicted thoughts. Though they stayed along with Jack who I expected to be offended but didn't even reply. When he opened his mouth again a few months passed. "Everyone knows I'm going to die, no one can help it. So wouldn't it be nice just to be a teen for the rest of my life? I like you, I like Emma and I love Zach. I know it's tough but couldn't we just pretend everything's okay? Because there's nothing we can do." He spoke as he sat beside me. He was right unfortunately, there was nothing to do. "You know, I doubt next year saying goodbye will be as hard as you think. And Jack is so uptight, I need someone to show me how to chug a can of beer and roll a joint before I die." He groaned looking at me and I suddenly broke into a fit of laughter, he was seventeen and never drank or smoked, it was funny to think someone like him hasn't lived yet. He began to laugh along with me as I rummaged through my pocket. A joint still there I tucked away for a smoke session this morning still laid  there. I held it out to him and smirked at him. "Tonight after Zach leaves we're gonna have your first teenage experience, you got it?" He began to laugh louder before he grabbed it's we were practically howling in laughter. He draped his arm around my shoulder and walked me back to the room. I was glad that I had made friends with him.

As hours passed I couldn't help but smile to myself as we all laughed and talked amongst ourselves, Jack was unlike no one I had met before. He was kind, cunning and funny and felt like we had been friends forever, by the end of the night we had referee to eachother as brothers. "Okay so me and Emma are gonna bring dinner from the cafeteria." Zach called as he put on his shoes and Emma and him linked arms playfully. I nodded while flipping through channels and Jack stood up as well "I wanna come to, be back soon." Jack called out and left.

I leaned back in my chair staring at the channels before Turing off the television in boredom.

"Ja..Jack.. Jack..." the voice from before that felt haunting groaned. Jack was gone I looked back at the door before standing up and cautiously walking towards the corner. Hesitantly I pulled it back my eyes widened.

"Daniel?!"
