"Miss Ainsworth, now that we have you alone. Why were you in that gym when you were supposed to exit with the rest of the students?" asked a soldier in a black uniform shining a bright light right into Gaia's eyes. The man was glaring down at Gaia with his hands on the table.
"The only reason I went back was my mother was there trying to deal with the threat," Gaia replied quietly avoiding eye contact.
"But we have here that you've lost your mother, back when you were a young girl. To a car accident." The soldier read off of a file. Gaia looked up at the man.
"My adoptive mother was the one I was talking about...Are we done here?" Gaia responded standing up.
"Yes, you can go," the man said when he pulled out another file from a bag. "Unless you want to look over the accident report of the day of your biological mother's death."
"Why would I do that? It was an accident," Gaia said surely before she glanced behind herself seeing a lady with short blonde hair and pantsuit come into the small room. Her sunglasses covered her eyes while she stared at Gaia.
"That car wreck wasn't just an accident, something happened to her and your father that night," the blonde woman said while she gestured for the soldier to hand over the file. "Here, see for yourself." The lady handed over the file and let Gaia open it. She saw the accident report making her mouth hang open.

Once Gaia walked out of the police station, she saw Layla talking to a black woman with a pantsuit on with Rowan, Morgan, and Terra off to the side. Connor was hugging his mother who Gaia has never met before. His little sister was standing by them laughing at Tempest who was cracking a joke.
"Gaia, finally." Skye said when she walked over to Gaia. Gaia's eyes were slightly red from the crying she had just finished. "What's the matter? Did they do something to you?"
"Nothing, it's nothing." Gaia replied while she went over to Layla pulling her into a tight hug.
"Oh, what's this for?" Layla said surprised, but still hugging back.
"Just wanted a hug," Gaia said.
"Always a pleasure, Layla, but get out of my way because you aren't an agent anymore," Joy stated when she walked off back inside.
"Okay, who wants to go get some dinner, maybe it will be good for everyone after all that." Layla said looking around everyone. She saw Connor and his family coming over so she decided to add, "And of course you all can join us."

Outside the small diner that Layla took the group to, Gaia was staring up at the stars. She heard the door open from behind her so she turned seeing Connor coming out.
"Looks like our sisters are already besties as they said," Connor stated when he stopped right in front of Gaia.
"Yeah...umm..." Gaia started to say when she just stopped and slowly walked away from Connor.
"Gaia...what's wrong?" Connor asked as he followed her. Gaia glanced back before Connor reached out and took Gaia's hand.
"I think my mother lied to me for years...about my biological parents death. They were shot and the accident was a set up, it was a cover up." Gaia replied while she pulled her arm away.
"Maybe there was a good reason for Layla to lie about it. To protect you," Connor said looking back into the diner. He watched as Tempest and Heather laughed hysterically while Terra put fries in her mouth making her look like a walrus.
"That isn't something somebody does to protect someone, at least not now anyways," Gaia yelled. "Just, I need some time alone to process everything."
