Part 9-Mind Over Matter part 2

As Celestial jumped at the Branx man, Gaia moved her hands forward tackling the man to the ground. She used a lot of force to keep him in the ground leaving indents in the concrete.

The Branx starred up into Gaia's bright green eyes peering through her golden mask.

"You have your mother's eyes," said the Branx man through Gaia's mind. The Branx closed his eyes and then opened them again making Gaia get flung into the air once more. This time Gaia aimed her hands down, blasting a green energy blast hitting the Branx man.

He fell to the ground before he got up quickly, "Just like your mother. How things never change?" The Branx man went into Gaia's mind using one of his own memories.

"Look at how your mother tried and failed numerous times to stop me, she tried and tried." The Branx thought. Gaia fell to her knees seeing recurring memories of her mom fighting this man. She grabbed her head from the pain of someone inside her brain.

"Ugh! Get out of my head!" She screamed while she felt a burst of energy going through her body. All of a sudden, a green blast of energy emerged from her body in an explosive way. The Branx man lifted his hands to block the energy. The gray alien man finally pushed back jumping into the air to avoid the blast.

"Oh my, maybe things are different. Stronger than your mother, maybe," the Branx thought before he went back into Gaia's mind.

"So can I do something?" Connor asked Morgan while she continued to type away on the small keyboard connected to the device.

"Probably not, especially because I have no idea what this stuff is. It could be anything," Morgan replied when she turned around seeing that it was just her and Connor left in the back room. "If my sister were here, she would most likely know what this shit is."

Connor looked at Morgan before telling her, "Well, if you can't figure it out. Then...who knows what happens."

"Umm, not helping," Morgan told him. The device started to open revealing a vent letting out a little green gas. Morgan started to cough so she covered her mouth while Connor felt a bad tingling feeling in the back of his throat.

"Seems like it affects your throat." Morgan stated between coughs.

Just then, Caleb peaked his head into the back room after hearing all the coughing, "Is it doing something?"

"Yes, go tell everyone to cover their mouths. Protect your throats." Morgan shouted when Connor ran over to a shelf grabbing a couple of face masks.

"Here," Connor handed Morgan a mask before she nodded putting it on.

"Please go out there so I can concentrate," Morgan said looking at Connor.

"You got this, Morgan!" He cheered as he walked backwards still looking at her with a giddy expression that was only shown by his eyes.

Daisy was walking through the crowded plaza when she heard screaming coming from a group people surrounding Celestial. Daisy pushed her way to the front of the crowd seeing Gaia kneeling on the ground with the Branx man standing over her.

Just then, Layla pulled out her gun aiming it right at the man, "Back away from the girl!" She shouted. Rowan came to her side looking around at the people.

"Get out of here! It's unsafe for any of you to be here!" Rowan yelled at the people making them all start to back up leaving only a handful of civilians frozen watching what was happening.

Daisy caught Rowan's eyes landing on her so she nodded running off trying to locate Morgan.

As she ran through the street, she saw Payton shouting for Gaia, "Gaia! Gaia, where are you?!" Payton yelled, but stopped noticing Daisy. "Rowan's girlfriend, have you seen Gaia?"
