TRIS POV
I'm silent.
He's silent.
I look at my phone.
We've been standing like this, staring at each other for 5 minutes.
I put my phone back down.
I stare at him again.
I walk into Aspens room and set her in her jumper.
I walk into Mia's and do the same.
I look at Four.
He looks at me.
I couldn't take it anymore.
I walked into his arms and hugged him tighter than you could ever imagine.
I started sobbing.
He holds me and rubs my back.
He kisses my forehead.
"I'm sorry. I love you." he whispers.
"I love you too."
We stay hugging and saying I love you for 15 minutes.
That's interrupted when somebody knocks on the door.
"What?"
"Can I come in?" It's Christina.
"Sure one sec."
I push four and his suitcase into my closet.
"Come in."
"Hey so we're going out tonight to celebrate. And I thought since... what's wrong?"
"What do you mean?"
"There are tears on your face, Tris. Don't lie."
"I'm fine. Go on."
She sighs and continues.
"So I figured I'd help you get ready and stuff. Also, I need to borrow a dress."
She heads for my closet.
Before I can scream no, she opens the closet.
Four falls out.
"What the hell?!?!!?" She screams.
Four stands up awkwardly.
"Yeah.. What the hell?" I unconvincingly try to play along.
The both stare at me.
"MARLENE! GET YOUR ASS UP HERE!"
Marlene's up here in an instant.
"What the hell is going on?"
"I don't know. Care to explain, Ms. Beatrice?"
"Mmmmmm not really. I'm gonna pass."
"Nice try."
"UGHHHH"
"Tris. Explain. Now."
"Yeah but I'd rather not."
"I will take your children and feed them energy drinks."
"But wouldn't they die fro-"
"Shut up Marlene."
I sigh.
"Fineeeeeeeeee. I just walked into my room and he was here so I hugged him and cried for a while."
They look at me in the eyes.
"She's not lying." Four says.
They look at him.
"Fine. Then how did you get here and who let you in?"
"I got here by plane. Tris and I used to have this app where I could track her and I was so desperate that I got your guyses house address so I could come here. And that babysitter let me in."
"She let you in the house? She's officially not allowed to babysit them again. She could've let an axe murderer in the house. Dangerous." I say.
They stare at me.
Christina screams "Mom alert!" Then they all start making police car noises.
I glare at them.
"Go play with your kids if you're so worried about them getting killed by an axe murderer."
"Fine."
I walk into Mia's room and grab her and some of her toys.
I bring her to Aspens and set her down.
I grab Aspen out of her jumper and set her next to Mia.
I'm staring off into space when Aspen starts laughing and Mia screams.
I snap back to reality to see if Aspen took Mia's toy or something.
Nope.
Then Four hugs me from behind.
I kiss him and he tries to deepen it.
I pull away.
"Hey. Can you walk back out for a second?"
He walks out.
The girls start crying.
"Okay now come back in."
He walks back in and they stop.
"They remember you."
"They should keep remembering because I'm not going anywhere, and they're stuck with me now."
"That's what you said last time." I mumble.
Apparently I didn't mumble quiet enough because he responds.
"I was stupid last time."
"What if you're stupid this time?"
"I'm not going to leave, Tris. I promise."
"You shouldn't make promises you can't keep."
"I swear. And if I may recall, you left me, not the other way around."
I sigh out of defeat and kiss him.
"Whatever. It doesn't matter anymore."
