A Boyfriend's Nightmare

Chapter 3

Iris exited her house the next morning. She was wearing gym clothes and was going to take a quick jog. She jogged down the brown bridge she and Chris had walked on the previous day before coming across the street. She looked both ways and made sure it was safe before crossing. What she didn't know was, Vanessa had followed her and was driving a white Toyota Camry. As Iris crossed the road, Vanessa began to speed up. But luckily, Iris saw the car about to hit her and quickly jumped out of the way. In rage, Vanessa banged her fist on the steering wheel of the car as she drove off.

At school the next day, Chris was at track practice, so Iris told Cisco and Caitlin about her incident. Wow, that may have been some crazy driver. Cisco sounded annoyed. But who would want to run me over? Iris asked. I don't know, some drunk driver maybe? Cisco said. We're just glad you're okay. Caitlin put a friendly arm around her back. Hey, I'll be right back. I just need to go and use the bathroom. Caitlin turned to her friends. We'll be here waiting. Cisco called out. before watching her disappear down the hall. When she entered the bathroom, she could hear singing coming from one of the stalls. She was curious, and wanted to do some digging. She went into the stall next door, and quietly got on top of the toilet seat where she carefully peeped her head over the stall. She was shocked to see Vanessa cutting herself with a small cutter thing.

 She got off the toilet and went to the mirror. She placed her phone on the small counter near the faucet as she washed her hands. Vanessa had came out of the stall and stood next to Caitlin as she looked in the mirror. After washing her hands, she went to dry them by the hand drier and paper towel machine which were hanging on a wall, at the end of the bathroom. Vanessa noticed that Caitlin had left her phone near the sink. She sneakily took the phone and quickly went to Caitlin's contacts where she deleted Iris from the list. She watched Caitlin as she did so. When she was done, She quickly put the phone back and left the bathroom.

When Caitlin returned to her friends, she was still in shock and her friends had noticed the income. Hey Cait, you okay? Iris was concerned. Yeah, you look kinda shook. Cisco added. I-I saw Vanessa. She was cutting herself. Caitlin blurted out. What? Are you sure it was even her? Iris asked. Yeah, I saw her. I heard singing in one of the stalls and I peeped over on the stall, and I saw her. Caitlin recalled. Iris and Cisco were both flabbergasted and confused. Oh my god. Vanessa called out as she came running out of nowhere. Iris, you have to come see this. Vanessa pulled her by her arm and led her to her locker. Iris is a slut. Iris read the words which were written on her locker. 

Wha-who would do something like this? fretted Iris. Caitlin. I saw her do it. Vanessa accused. What?! Iris I would never do anything like that. Caitlin said. She's lying. I also caught her cutting herself in the bathroom. Vanessa lied. But Caitlin said she caught you cutting yourself. Iris was confused. No, I would never do such a thing. Vanessa denied it. Caitlin has been lying to you Iris. Both she and Cisco have been talking behind your back. I was at my locker and I kinda eavesdropped. They were saying pretty mean stuff about you. Calling you a slut, and a bitch. Vanessa said as the lies kept on coming. What!? She's the one that's obviously lying. Cisco growled. Yeah, we're you're best friends. We would never do anything like that to you. Caitlin tried to convince her. Oh yeah? Then why did you delete Iris from your contacts? Vanessa crossed her arms. Caitlin, is this true? Iris snivelled. No. I swear to you. You can look for yourself. Caitlin handed Iris her phone. I don't see my name anywhere on here. Iris showed Caitlin the phone.

What?! But I promise you, I never deleted your contact information. Caitlin frantically looked through her phone. She's just jealous of our friendship Iris. They both are. Vanessa asserted. I thought you guys were supposed to be my best friends. Iris had anger in her eyes. Come on Iris, lets go. Vanessa grabbed Iris's hand and led her away from them. Cisco and Caitlin stood there, stunned and heartbroken at what had just happened.
