A Boyfriend's Nightmare

Chapter 10

 The next day at school Iris told her friends what had happened at Vanessa's house. Gosh, I didn't mean for it to go that far. Cisco apologized. Cisco. It wasn't your fault. Iris put her hand on him. It was just really scary. I mean the confession she gave me. I just had chills when I was there. Iris recalled. I mean I would to if I had gone. She's a freakin psychopath for crying out loud. Muttered Cisco. I'm just glad she didn't hurt you. Chris kissed her on the forehead as Iris rested her head on his shoulder. Now that we have enough evidence, we should probably tell the principal about Vanessa, and maybe get the police involved. Caitlin suggested. Yeah, Iris and I will meet with the principal after school and we'll sort it all out. Chris said. Not on my watch. Vanessa growled, eavesdropping on their conversation.

Vanessa followed Chris to the locker rooms and waited until all the boys were out before sneaking in. She scoured the room looking for Chris's blue bookbag. And a few moments later, she spotted it on a red bench. She looked around as she opened the bag before rummaging through it and finding Chris's phone. She swiped until she opened the messaging app and looked for Iris's name. Once she found her name, she started messaging her as Chris. Meet me at the spot after school. I have a surprise for you 😊❤ After sending the message, she quickly put the phone back in Chris's bag zipping it up again. She was just about to leave when the coach spotted her. Hey. What are you doing in here? He asked her. Uh... I was just looking for my boyfriend. I thought I saw him come in here and... Vanessa lied. Well your boyfriend's not in here, and you're not allowed to be in here. The coach said. Yeah, I was just leaving. Vanessa said, before leaving the locker room.

When the bell rang for dismissal that day, Iris had checked her phone for any messages and came across the message that Vanessa had sent as Chris. Iris didn't think anything of it so she told Cisco and Caitlin that she was meeting Chris at White fall park before making her way there. A few minutes later Chris emerged from the entrance. Hey, have you guys seen Iris? We were supposed to go and see the principal. Chris asked Cisco and Caitlin. Yeah, she told us she was meeting you at White fall park. Cisco had a confused look on his face. Vanessa. Chris muttered. I need you guys to call the police and tell them to go to White fall park. Iris is in danger. He said before running off.

Meanwhile, Iris had arrived at their spot by the tree at White fall park but there was no sign of Chris. Suddenly, she felt something cover her eyes from the back, and didn't realize that Vanessa had blindfolded her. Chris? Iris called out, but there was no answer. She felt someone gently push her forward, and thinking it was Chris, she obliged and moved forward. Vanessa guided her to a tree branch where a noose was hanging from. She helped her get on a small step stool, as Iris felt there was something wrong. She took off the blindfold and saw Vanessa and the noose. Vanessa, what's going on? What are you doing? Iris shuddered. Ending this once and for all. Vanessa forced Iris's head into the noose just as Chris arrived. Noooo! Chris yelled knocking Vanessa to the ground and getting on top of her. But it was too late, she had already moved the step stool away from Iris, and now she was struggling to hold her breath. Sirens could be heard in the distance as a few police officers arrived. Chris got off of Vanessa and quickly went to help Iris, hoping he was not too late. He wrapped his arms around her waist, trying to keep her steady. Then with one hand, he took off the noose as Iris began to catch her breath. Iris! Chris cried out as he wrapped his arms around her. Iris burst into tears as she buried her face in his chest. Its okay. Everything's gonna be okay. Comforted Chris as tears ran down his cheeks. They watched as police cuffed and arrested Vanessa.

3 months later...

So prom is coming up soon. Any idea who you wanna go with? Chris said as he and Iris walked hand in hand along the pier together. You, obviously. Iris laughed. I knew you'd choose me. Chris joked. I will always choose you, Chris Stewart. Iris smiled at him as they stopped walking. Chris leaned in and kissed her. I love you Iris West. He grinned. I love you Chris Stewart. Iris said as he kissed her again, this time deepening the kiss before they continued walking again.

Vanessa was booked into a psychiatric hospital 4 hours from Fairview Heights. And when she recovers and gets the help she needs, she will be spending time in prison. Your life blood flows through my veins, for all time we will remain, like a vice that cannot bend, you and me until the end. love me till you die my love. Never leave my side... Vanessa sang as she stared at the picture of her and her mother while sitting in her room at the psychiatric hospital.
