Aphrodite shook her head, eating her food as the two continued to playfully fight. Her daughter, Artemis Rosenburgh, smiled widely as her father just shook his head at her. Aphrodite let out a small laugh.

"Alright, no more food fights, eat." Aphrodite nodded to the girl's food and the younger redhead nodded her head before stuffing a mouthful of spaghetti in her mouth. Aphrodite shook her head, her smile never fading as she looked at her husband, pure admiration for him roaming in her eyes.

"Alright, Aphrodite." Artemis commented, letting out giggles whilst Aphrodite rolled her eyes. There was one thing that Aphrodite didn't like, and that was her name. She absolutely hated her name, and preferred to go by her middle name which was Winter. She liked it better for a reason unknown to her. Her teenage daughter, fourteen going on fifteen, was the only reason she could stand the name. She enjoyed making jokes about her name, claiming that she needed to be more like the goddess that she was named after, though she was always joking. Artemis loved her mother just the way she was, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

"Hey, Mom." Artemis spoke up, chewing her food and then swallowing. Aphrodite glanced at her, raising her eyebrows as she chewed her mouthful of food. "Do you think we could do something tomorrow."

Aphrodite swallowed, nodding her head. "What do you want to do, sweetheart?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not really sure. I just want to get out of the house, seeing as tomorrow is Saturday."

"Well, you figure out what you want to do, and we'll see if we can do it, how about that?" Aphrodite asked, smiling as she watched her daughter's face brighten as she nodded her head eagerly. Suddenly, Artemis froze. Her entire body tensed as she turned her head towards the front door. Both her parents immediately noticed this.

"Art? What's wrong?" Damien asked.

"I can hear them." She whispered. "Someone's here."

"Who's here, Art?"

Artemis turned her head to look at her mother. "The bad people." Suddenly, their front door was kicked open and the family of three immediately stood up. Aphrodite pushed her husband and daughter behind her, looking at the men as they aimed their guns at her.

"What the hell do you want?" Aphrodite seethed.

One of the man smirked. "You." He then looked over Aphrodite's shoulder, nodding to Artemis. "And her."

Immediately, her eyes started to glow a magenta purple as the chaos magic wrapped around her hands. A snarl fell from her lips. "Stay away from my family." She shot out her hand sending one of the men into a wall. She fought the men, trying to keep them away from her family when one of them came up behind her. Before she could throw her powers at them, a collar was placed around her neck, the purple fading as the collar stopped her from using her powers, sending a shock through her body that made her fall to the ground. Damien stepped up and immediately, a gun was aimed at him, and he was shot in the head. He fell dead to the ground right beside Aphrodite, Artemis screaming out for her parents whilst Aphrodite watched her now dead husband with angry tears filling her eyes.

"Let my daughter go!" She hissed through a clenched jaw. She went to get up as they grabbed onto Artemis, dragging her out of the house as the teenager screamed for her parents. Aphrodite forced herself to stand up only for a gun to be aimed at her and fired twice in the abdomen. She fell to the ground, coughing roughly as she fell on her back. The men left, leaving Aphrodite there to bleed out with her husband dead by her side. "Damien!" The woman cried out. "Damien!" She started to sob, wincing in pain as she did so, feeling the blood start to drain from her. Her vision started to fade in and out, and that's when she saw a woman with glasses on her face, kneeling down as she spoke to her. Aphrodite couldn't hear her though.

Evangeline smiled down at the powerful mutant before saying, "Let me help you." And with that, Aphrodite blacked out.
