"Nothing makes it hard to breathe like being in your company
When you've got someone new around your arms
I thought'd I'd be over it
To see you lock with other lips
I guess I'm just no good at moving on

I always tried to tell myself that
I'd fall in love with someone else
But oh my stubborn heart is set on you
And every night I fall asleep just so I can see you in my dreams
And now I think you ought to know the truth

Are you listenin'?
I'm knocking on your heart, could you let me in?
Tell me I'm the one and I've always been
'Cause I don't wanna wonder if we'll ever meet again
I'm knocking on your heart, could you let me in?..."

⭐Maggie Lindemann - Knocking On Your Heart⭐

"So... opening night. Sounds like it's kind of a big deal, uh?"

Andy swallowed as she glanced through the passenger window of the family SUV on the front of East High School. She had never been particularly nervous before. Well, except for game days.

And yet she couldn't ignore the feeling of jitters down her limbs as she ogled the facade in thought. It was the famous day. The one who would bring either the glory or the eternal shame of the theater company.

Sounds dramatic uh?

Andy let out a slight snort at her own thought before letting a faint sigh as she turned to her dad, picking up her skateboard and backpack."Don't get your hopes up. I'm not even in it."

"Really? But you sang the other day though."

"It was a one-time-thing."Andy replied, shrugging a shoulder before giving a smirk at her father as she opened the door."Honestly don't feel like you have to come with mom. It's not that important."

Neil instantly frowned at his daughter's familiar tone before leaning through the middle console to make eye contact with her."So is this just a hobby for you? Singing is not important."

Andy swallowed at her father's skeptical tone before standing on the hood of the SUV as she leaned down to answer him."Honestly? I don't know. I'm a soccer player, right?"

"You're not just that, Andriena."

Andy winced at her father using her full name. It always meant he meant business. That was the tone he used to sell land to all these rich entrepreneurs.

At this point, she knew there would be no point in trying to contradict him when he was in this state of mind. So she just put on a dubious expression before shrugging her shoulders again.
