"The problem with human attraction is not knowing if it will be returned"

                                - Becca Fitzpatrick, Hush Hush

Amaryllis washed back her pain meds with her water. She was sat on the school's back stairs durring luch. She just couldn't handle people today.

Not her many admirers or even her cheap friends, if you could call them that. They just wanted the social status she had to offer. As soon as they heard she  was no longer captain of the cheerleading squad they would probably back away. She wasn't sure if she should feel relieved or lonely.

It was a rare thing that she be alone. Whether it be with her attention whore friends or with one of her many occasional bed warmers. She relished in the feeling of being alone. But of course, good things are over fast.

She stood up as she heard the back door opening. She pulled down her skirt in an attempt to be modest, which with her choice of clothes, could never happen. She fixed her raven hair and turned to see Quincey, her most frequent bed partner.

"You up for it?" He asked her. She wanted to feel like she deserved more than this, that his words weren't meant for someone like her. But they were and she knew it. She was worthless and was only meant to please men's every need.

It made her feel dirty, it was dirty. But she had no other choice. So she nodded her head and let him lead her to the janitor's closet where she made herself forget her morals. She made herself forget everything.

Everything accept who made her feel like this in the first place.
