It had been almost 2 months since Tweksbury's birthday party, meaning that New Years was just right about the corner.
And of course, Basilweather Hall was having a New Year's Eve/ New Years midnight themed ball.
Enola considered not going especially since what happened last time.
The New Year's Eve party was going to start promptly at 8pm and end around 1am. Normally it would be quiet improper to stay up later than midnight, but New Year's Eve was an exception.
With all that talking about New Year's Eve. Enola almost forgot The New Year's Eve kiss.
Oh lord.
Enola was dressed in a deep dark blue midnight ball gown. That personally Lady Tweksbury suggested when they went shopping together for a gown. Enola wasn't a fan of tying her hair up in a fancy hair-do, that would be heavier that her older brother, Mycroft. So she left it down.
Oh dear god. It was almost 8! She quickly headed downstairs.
Dozens of people had already arrived. That would make sense... Lady Tweksbury had invited more than half the country.
Beneath those people Enola spotted Tweksbury...talking with a girl...she was beautiful and she looked friendly...he was smiling. Smiling is a friendly gesture right? Wait when did I care for Tweksbury's love life? No I don't care
Yet Enola managed to find her way towards Tweksbury.
"Oh hello Enola"
"Hi" she said shyly for no reason at all, or so she thought
He looked uh...quiet handsome in his tuxedo and his hair was brushed up but left little messy, making him more...attractive?
Enola couldn't believe that her mind was infiltrated with these thoughts.
Enola became silent then, she continued to stare at the floor whilst Tweksbury and the beautiful lady continued to talk. Even though she was lost in her own head. She heard their conversation entirely. It was quite boring honestly. Enola learned she was a noble, rich daughter of a duke. She was from France the city of love. Might explain why she was really flirty with Tweksbury. Twirling her hair, bragging about her money and smarts... not to mention her looks too. Her name was Diana Allen. Even her name looked rich and snobbish. She did look nice when Enola first saw her. But now that Enola saw her true beauty, it wasn't pretty.
At that point an hour later. Enola was hungry and tired of listening to the obnoxiously annoying girl ramble on and on. So when she saw a waiter pass on with some delicious looking appetizers, Enola quickly followed. The smell making its way through her nose to her tongue where she could almost taste the flavour of whatever the waiter was holding. But she was stopped, seriously?
"What?!" She said getting annoyed.
"Would you like to dance"? replied  Tweksbury  holding out his hand.
Even though she was hungry, and even though her heart yearned to get to food. She reluctantly took his hand.

When they got to the dance floor( A/N I didn't know what else to call it?) Enola looked back to Diana, she was glaring at them. Then here came the awkward part. Tweksbury grabbed her waist feeling a little hesitant at first. As Enola fumbled with his hand. It seemed weird to be in this position as it would mostly supposed to be for couples.
It was quite graceful actually than Enola thought, Tweksbury was a good dancer. A skill that Enola didn't even know about.

They danced for quite a while. Or at least until Enola excused herself to go eat for a couple minutes. She wasn't even gone for 3 minutes before she saw Diana trying to persuade Tweksbury to dance with her.
She walked over to them and said " it's okay you guys can dance now" she fake smiled and walked away.
At around 11:55pm Enola quickly hurried herself to find somewhere private. Not shortly the room would be filled with people kissing and she did not want to take part in it. She found a broom closet it was quite small but it would do.

Shortly not even a minute, somebody came in too.
" hey move on buddy this is my spot now" Enola whispered
"Really?" The man whispered.
Really? She recognized the voice.Tweksbury.
" what are you doing here?"
"Oh well, you know Diana she became very too close to me and I kind of hurried off. Particularly she is not the kind of woman I want to kiss tonight".
Through a distance she could hear the loud clock ticking the time. 10, 9, 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,. She didn't even hear 1 before Tweksbury collided his lips on hers. She didn't even  know what she was doing but she kissed back.
