43. Mom!

Hello!

Sorry couldn't upload last sunday, I totally forget it was sunday😂

"What do you mean? Why won't they let you visit her? They never stopped you before." I was muddled when Navya told me there were security outside Nimmi's ward and they were not letting her in.

Only the staff assigned by Mr. Malhotra could enter, not even any other staff member.

Is something wrong? What if something happened to Nimmi? Why is the security so tight? Is someone trying to harm Nimmi? But why would someone do that? We don't have any foes as such and Nimmi is just a kid.

There must be something else and I need to find out.

I disconnected the call and looked at my feet. He's gone for a week and I can utilize this time to investigate that what is happening with my sister.

My feet are fine now, I can surely walk slowly and cautiously and probably find something helpful.

Pressing the bell, I waited foran attendant to come and she camein no time.

"Victoria, I'll be sleeping for some time and I don't want any disturbances near me so make sure no one comes in here for anything. " I instructed and she nodded before leaving.

I got up slowly and headed towards the walk in closet. I can find something from Nimmi's reports and I have seen him putting her reports in his drawer.

I looked around for the reports but his drawers were instead filled with files concerning office. I searched more but there was nothing in his drawers.

But I saw him with those reports and he enteredthe closet so they must be here only.

Sighing, I sat on the stool and bit my lip in vexation.

Did he took it with himself? If so, then I'm damn sure he's hiding something.

Annoyed, I came out and sat on my bed. If I don't find her reports, I'm not going to find out anything at all. Think Nandini think.

I checked those drawers in the closet but I didn't check his closet. What if he has hidden it in his clothes?

I went back in and opened his cupboard.  Searching thoroughly, I finally found her reports and with a victorious grin came out and sat on the couch.

Sorry Mr. Oh-So-Smart Malhotra, but you couldn't hide it well.

Looking at the reports I felt I was back to square one. These medical terms are just so difficult to understand,  I don't think I can do it on my own but I know who can help.

I sent pictures of these reports to Navya  and asked her to ask her nurse friend, what does this really means. It can give me a lot of my answers probably.

Looking around for something understandable, I was going through the reports when something caught my attention.

Name- Nalini Murthy

Sex- F

Father's Name- M. Malhotra

M. Malhotra? Why has Manik put his name in the space? Probably he didn't knew our father's name and that's why in hurry he must have written his.

But Chacha-chachi were present there when they were admitting Nimmi, why didn't he ask them? Or why didn't they fill the form?

This is so confusing. Manik has always hated me to the core so there is no way he was in so much hurry to get Nimmi admitted that he ignored everything else, then why?

Am I overthinking this? I think I'm, he must be in a hurry, there's no other explanation anyways.

I went back to put the report in it's place, I don't want him to find out that I got hold of this.

As I was hiding it back, a little frame caught my attention, which was nicely hidden in a corner of his cupboard.

Hesitantly, I took it out and saw the picture.

"Such a pretty lady." I whispered as a smile came on my lips.

I'm sure it's his mom, hidden in a corner of his heart. She is just so pretty and kind looking that I'm sure it's her. I understand your pain Manik, I really do because I've gone through it too, and sometimes, eventhough I hate myself for it but I understand the anguish behind your actions too.

It's my upbringing that makes me empathetic towards you and it's your upbringing that makes you who you are. You were never taught to love or even express yourself freely to anyone. You grew up with hatred in your heart, anger in your veins and all this has led you to act like you do now.

I know your anger, pain doesn't makes everything you are doing right but seeing that there is years of bolted up hatred that's all erupting like a volcano right now, I can't help but pity you.

I wish you were taught to love too, I wish you had someone to hold on to when you got scared, I wish you had someone to go to with all your problems with the assurance that everything will be alright, I wish you had the embrace of love of your mother while growing up Manik. If this wasn't snatched away from you at such a young age, you would'nt have turned out to be how you are today.

But at the same time, blaming my mom for everything isn't right either and I will change that. I will make you understand thatit wasn't my mother's fault that everything got snatched away from you, I will prover my mother's innocence to you Manik Malhotra because I knew my mom, she could never intentionally break a house.

I'm sure she was cheated on too, I'm sure she knew nothing about your father being married, I'm sure she was innocent and proving that is the only way we all can get out of this mess.

I looked at the picture of his mom once again and a smile immediately came on my lips.

"I know he misses you alot and if you were here today, the whole scenario would have been different but don't worry, I won't let him be in this pain for too long. I'll try my best to help him, help us and for that, I'll just need your blessings Mrs. Malhotra. I promise you, I won't give up until I succeed, I promise you." I promised and a tear escaped my eyes.

Caressing the picture one last time, I kept it back in it's intial position and closed his cupboard.

With a new hope and motive, I felt a complete new energy in me. I will fix everything ma, I'll prove you innocent and we all will be out of this mess, forever.

But for all this to happen, there's only one person who can help me.
