CHAPTER THREE.

"WELL I BUMPED into Erica today," Evee admits, over the line as she continued to have a talk with her sister.

Gemma, with her usual busy schedule, wanted to check up on her sister─like always. Evee didn't exactly spare every single detail, of course. More of a simple "it was good," to summarize what happened.

Evee wasn't sure how fond Gemma would be if she blurted out that one of her classmates was the weird dude on the road, who they almost ran over. So, on her part, Evee didn't mind to spare those details.

"Oh. How did that go?" Gemma asks with a neutral tone─it didn't seem like she was interested but on the other hand, she didn't sound like she was bored. Probably just distracted...

"How it would go if your best friend just disappeared one day and comes back eight years later... just the usual."

"Well─" Someone mutters a few words over to Gemma, leading to a few seconds of awkward silence,"Sorry about that─Something's up at work. I have to go soon. But anyways. We can talk at home...bye."

Evee couldn't even utter a word before the call ended. It seemed like this town wasn't so different, afterall. There was still the afternoons of silence filled with movies and homework. And, the younger Sharp girl wasn't mad about it.

It was just like any other day...however, it really wasn't. This town was still very different. In many ways, Evee couldn't even describe.

Could she even comprehend it? To be determined...

Because, of course, what this town had stored for Evee was yet to come...

𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 morning had hit, Evee was still presented with a empty house. Which didn't seem like a problem, however, there was still the other dilemma: school. Without a ride, going to school wasn't an option.

I mean, sure, she could walk. But how long could that really take? She wasn't a wolf.

But, I suppose a person called Lydia Martin was on her side, today. Because in minutes, a car was already driving against the roads, nearest to Evee's home.

Evee gives the group of sophomores a puzzled expression,"Should I ask how you know where I live?"

"No. Just get in the car." Jackson sighs as Evee put her hands up in surrender and started entering the backseats of Jackson's cramped car. Surprisingly, she was also surprised with a warm smile from no one other than Allison Argent.
