As I sat there watching Percy I couldn't help but be in awe. Percy had always been good at certain things. He was good with a sword, he was good at doing his hair, stuff like that. When he was sailing though? It was like he had found his passion.

The Queen Anne's Revenge responded to his every command. Without any training, at least none that I was aware of, he knew how to do pretty much everything! From stuff with the sails to the ropes. Heck, somehow he even seemed to know which direction to steer. You know, either that or he was pretty good at fooling us. All I knew was that for an insanely old ship, we were cruising along pretty fast.

He looked really good too- not in a weird way! It's just uh- I think the ocean enhanced his looks. That C.C. lady was utterly crazy to say that Percy needed "fixing." He was probably the best looking out of the entire bunch of us. You know, with the wind in his hair, and that big sideways grin of his...

"You need something Joey?" Percy asked and I suddenly realized I had been starring

"Oh-uh no. I was just watching you or-uh I mean...you get what I'm saying, right?" I said as my face began to feel flushed

He nodded. "Yeah it's pretty cool. Not that I'm super cool or anything, you're really cool too. I just meant uh...the water. How I can control it."

"Yeah you're really cool!" I caught myself. "Uh-I mean it's really cool! You can get inventive with it too."

I stood up and walked over to the edge of the ship, next to where he was standing.

"It's probably kinda like the wind," I started. "You can do the basic stuff with it but if you really think you can do something crazy. Like when we first got to camp this summer. I got set on fire but when I got rid of the air in that space it pitterd out."

"You need oxygen for fire...that's really smart!" He exclaimed.

"Thank you." I said proudly. "You're way more creative than me though, just think of something. What's the weirdest thing you could imagine being able to do with the ocean?"

He thought for a moment before mischievously grinning. "I could..."

With that he lifted his hand and a tiny bit of water rose from the sea. At first I was confused, what could he do with that little water? Then he moved it over to my face.

"Hey!" I tried to get away but he just laughed and held my hand.

"I could give you a mustache!" He said

I tried my best to look down at it. We didn't exactly have any mirrors to look into. With a slight struggle I was able to make out a thin line of water tickling right above my mouth.

I let out a laugh, "don't you dare get water in my nose!"

I won't but hey, it's a good look on you. Maybe you should grow one." He joked

I put up my hand and whipped the water off of me. "Girls don't get facial hair Percy!"

He suddenly looked serious, "wait, they don't?"

"You seriously didn't know that?" I said with a smirk, raising my brow

"No! You're lying to me, aren't you?" He laughed

I shook my head with a smile. "Am not!"

For a moment we just shared a smile. It was nice, and for some reason I felt all warm and fuzzy. Not hot from the burning sun. No, it was like there was some kind of spark inside me, and not the regular electrical one either.

"Hey, you missed a spot." Percy said.

He got closer to me and whipped it away. Focus on the 'closer to me' part. Our noses nearly touched and I couldn't help but have the thought pass through my mind that this is how close people get when they kiss.
