Father Burke took the photo frame in his hands and cried internally, "My little brother. I miss you a lot. Wherever you are, may Christ bless you my dear boy."
"Who is that, Father?" Asked Tom Harris- a clerk- who had been standing by his side. Though not entirely a confidant, Father Burke trusted Tom pretty much, for he loved this young chap like his own son.
"This," Father Burke said, pointing the man in the picture, "is my younger brother- or say, my virtual brother- Edward Young. And this," He said, pointing the woman beside him, "is his wife, Candice Hemingway."
Tom looked at Father Burke. In those passionate eyes- which were almost full in love- there could be noticed a sign of a heartbroken soul.
"They got married on this date." He continued. "Right here, in this Church." He looked at Tom, faking a smile.
"But what makes you disheartened Father? Where are they now?" Tom asked.
"Well, that only Christ knows. But wherever they are, I know he will keep them safe." He continued, looking down at the picture, and wept internally, at the thought of his little brother.
John's P.O.V.
As we left the house, Ash breathed in. She didn't breathe in because she felt suffocated anymore. She did that because she was wanting to take in freshness. There was a difference. A huge one.
Earlier, she died everyday, in order to be alive. Now she would live everyday, in order to be alive.
"You did good." I told her, cupping her face in my hands. Her face- surprisingly- had no sign of tears, or even pain. She looked relaxed and happy. Nothing else could have given me more happiness, than the fact that my sweetheart was happy.
"John?" She called me.
"Hmm?"
"I told you yesterday that if she doesn't come back we would sell the house, remember?"
"I do, and I can't deny because I have promised you." I said, drawing lazy circles at the side of her soft cheeks.
"I don't want you to sell it anymore." She said, a ray of hope sparkling in her large bright eyes.
"Huh?"
"I wanna take out every shitty thing from that house which reminds me of her and live there. I don't wanna run away from the problems, I wanna fight them."
