Twitterpated

The ambiance of the hotel bar shimmered with limited tables and soft surround music. It was bigger than other Marriott bars but settled me down as I waited for the bartender. Some people were cozy in booths as a bartender approached. "Miss, what shall you drink tonight?" Well, first of all, do you carry Southern Comfort?" I winked as he replied, "I believe so, but I have to check." Off he went, scouring his cabinets when I felt a warm presence behind me. My heart raced which seemed awkward at that moment. I slightly looked back when a whisper to my ear resonated, "Ahh, Thumper....still looking fresh!" Why do you have him on your back?" He comes around in front of me pointing to the chair for the okay to sit. I nodded and the bartender returned with the response I so desired. "Ma'am, we do indeed! What can I make you?"
"A Southern Comfort, old fashioned sweet please." Smiling with my eyes and a famished thirst awaiting.

"That's not a west coast drink, that's for sure. Sounds good though." "It sure is, especially for a day I had. Oh, and its a Midwest thing, thank you."

Bartender returns with my drink and Randy orders a rum and coke.

"So, what brought you to this point in time?"

He smiles at me, a smile that brings such a joy and feeling to me indescribable and eyes waiting for an answer. He gets his drink and I say, "Cheers!" We clank our glasses and finally I mumble, "it's a long story..."

"Okay, Thumper, seriously, your eyes tell me otherwise. And yes, tell me about Thumper..."

I felt blood rush to my face and blurted out, "Thumper means a moment long ago I felt twitterpated when I was happy and you know, Thumper taps his foot fast to the ground giggly and happy. So, I got the tattoo."

"Are you feeling happy now? In this moment, right here with me?"

"Excuse me, but what about you? Do you always approach a woman so candidly?"

"No, but you are an exception and can't put my finger on it why. It seems like you have been lost with many hurdles and you now carry this victory presence of after glow."

"Afterglow is what you get when you get some....." I chuckle in my own amusement. Yes, my drink is very good. Randy hasn't stopped smiling at me and continues reading me with his eyes. I calm down and return to the conversation.

"I have to admit that I am truly in a place where I want to be, but it's been a journey. Since we're talking about moments, are you in a good place in time?"

He breathes a sigh and responds, "yes,right now in this moment with you."

"Right. You're just saying that..."

"No, I believe you are someone to get to know and I hope you feel the same. No bullshit. I think you are ready to take on this adventure we're having right now. "

"Funny, but I agree. You are easy going but, why me? At this point he holds up his glass to mine for a clank saying, "Cheers to new beginnings or whatever comes our way!" With that said, he puts his drink down and covers his hand over mine on the bar. His eyes glisten and I flirt back with mine smiling unknowingly that this could be a start of something...

I am at a lost for words but enjoy my drink. Randy looks around focusing on a couch with candles and cocktail table. "Would you like to share a more cozy enchantment over there?" I glanced over seeing the open patio with couches as the city shaped the hotel. He lead us to an open couch. "How about this? And the view?" "It's gorgeous," I reply taking in the city lights.

"Teri, what are your plans for the weekend? Are you staying the weekend?"
"I am and return home Monday, why?" "Well, it would be a great idea if we could go out and adventure into the city and my pleasure to take you on that journey if you want! Plus, you look like you need a pampering anyway..."

"I've been to Anaheim, but seeing L.A. with someone, well that would make my day as long as you don't mind..." Randy sat next to me as our arms laid over the couch viewing passers-by.

"I am a busy man with some tours and doing lots of investments. Tours meaning, I am a rock star,  well basically playing old school music."
"You sing?" Now I am literally into this man, so excited to know this. " I would love to hear you one day." I smile after that and he carries a look to me arousing beats to my heart overwhelming me, feeding on the moment when he asks, "Are you twitterpated right now?" Amused at his own question and answers for me, "yes you are Teri, a happy little Thumper indeed.  Can't wait to spend a day with you little bunny!" And we chuckle together.....
