Amos ran towards the wall between platforms 9 and 10 at King's Cross Station. I waved to my parents and followed my brother onto Platform 9 3/4. I never wanted my parents to come to the platform, they'd just make a big deal about Amos and I leaving. I scanned the crowd for my one and only friend, Lily Evans. I was pretty introverted for the first few years at Hogwarts, but then one day I decided to become friends with Lily Evans and that was all changed.
Lily was friends with a boy from Slytherin called Severus Snape. I never trusted Severus to be honest, he seemed like a wretched boy. He was always so clingy with Lily. Whenever I tried to pull her aside to talk with her, Severus would come too. There was also a group of boys who always, ALWAYS, followed us around. These boys had named themselves 'The Marauders'. The small group of four consisted of Remus Lupin, a boy I was quite fond of since he tutored me for Charms two years ago which allowed me to pass the class, Peter Pettigrew and the two school troublemakers, James Potter and Sirius Black. I only knew of them from classes, seeing them in the common room from time to time and hearing chatter about them whilst studying honestly. Also when Remus was tutoring me, they stopped by quite often. I learned a lot about each of the boys while receiving tutoring from Remus. James Potter had a huge crush on Lily Evans, the girl who would become my first friend in just about two years time, and he was almost always joint at the hip with Sirius Black. I learned that Sirius was the 'player' of the group and was well known as 'Hogwarts very own heartthrob'. Sirius is and always had been a complete flirt, since I first met him he never failed to flirt with me and after a while he began to constantly ask me out, the same way James did with Lily. Peter was a very shy boy, always hiding behind the others whenever something happened. I never liked Peter to be quite honest, there was just something that didn't feel right about him. Finally, Remus was a very kind and caring person. He never failed to amaze me with his extensive knowledge. I'd say Remus and I became rather close but we drifted apart after our tutoring ended. Don't get me wrong, we still talked quite a bit and whenever we had a project together it would be very fun, he just spent a lot of time with his friends, that's all.
Anyways, back to the present! I was continuing to scan the crowd of students for Lily when I felt a hand grasp my shoulder. 'Diggory! It's been a while!' A familiar voice said from behind me. I slowly turned to face James Potter. 'Hello James.' I smiled. 'Is there something I can help you with?' I asked, trying to be polite. 'No, I was just wondering if you would like to sit with Remus, Sirius, Peter and I on the way to Hogwarts?' The boys smiled at me sheepishly. 'What's the catch?' I smirked, knowing James was after something. 'Would you be able to bring Evans with you? I know you two have became friends and all so I thought I'd ask..' He stuttered, focusing his gaze on the ground. 'Alright Potter. When I find Lily, I'll ask if she would like to sit with us' I laughed. James grasped my hand into a tight handshake 'Thank you, y/n' he grinned widely as he turned away and headed to the train. Just as he boarded the train, a familiar red-head appeared at my side. 'Lily!' I exclaimed as I pulled her into a hug. 'Hello y/n! Missed me have you?' She laughed as I released her from my bear hug. 'Yep! It's been a veryyy long summer! Amos was constantly complaining about having his N.E.W.T.S, it was so boring listening to him!' I laughed as Lily and I walked onto the train. 'Lils, is there any chance we could maybe, possibly sit with the marauders?' I asked nervously. 'Let me guess, Potter came up to you and asked you to ask me?' Lily laughed as I nodded. 'Well, sure why not? It'll help you get a chance to make more friends!' Lily said excitedly as we headed to the compartment I saw the marauders enter.
'Okay Potter, she convinced me. I'm here.' Lily said while rolling her eyes. 'Hello Evans!' James' face lit up as she walked into the compartment and sat down next to him. I walked in and sat next to Sirius Black, while Peter and Remus were beside the window. 'Hey y/n' Sirius smirked and did his signature 'flirty' wink. 'Hello Black' I laughed, rolling my eyes. 'So, you'd help Prongs get Evans to come sit with us, but you won't even go on a single date with me?' Sirius frowned while dramatically clutching his heart. 'Oh sod off Sirius!' I laughed. Since I had started talking to the Marauders back in third year, Sirius always did things like this to annoy me. Always mimicking James by repeatedly asking me out, using the exact words James would say to Lily but switching names around. 'Honestly, it amazes me how you've not killed him yet, y/n' Remus looked over and smiled at me. 'Oh I've thought about it Remy' I laughed. Remus had told me in our third year to call him by his nickname and then again when you became friends a few months ago. 'Moony, you're just jealous you can't get a girl!' Sirius barked as he tried to snake his arm around my shoulder. I grasped his hand and put his arm back to his side. 'Not going to work Black' I muttered.
We sat in silence for a while until James spoke up. 'So Evans, what does Snivellous think of you sitting with us?' As he spoke, James raised one of his eyebrows. 'He doesn't exactly know. I saw him walking off with a Slytherin boy in the year below us so I left him to it.' Lily shrugged. 'To be quite honest, I prefer sitting here than with Snivell- I mean Severus' I said, cutting myself off so Lily wouldn't give me a death glare. When I spoke, a roar of laughter erupted in the compartment, everyone except Lily was laughing. 'Wow y/n, you really prefer Sirius trying to hit on you to Severus talking with you?' Remus laughed. 'Well Remy, he doesn't even talk to me. He just talks to Lily' I shrugged. Sirius sat up, bringing his lips to my ear. 'One date. Its all I'm asking for, Diggory. One single date.' He whispered. I decided to shut him up, I'd hit him up the side of the head. I was about to slap his head when he caught my hand in his. 'Nice try' he laughed as he brought my hand to his lips and kissed it. I felt the blush rise onto my cheeks.
After a short while longer, we arrived at Hogsmeade Station and headed for the carriages. Sirius hopped in next to me and James did the same to Lily. Since the carriages only held 4 people, Remus and Peter had to go find another carriage. Sirius softly placed his hand over mine. 'Godric's name your persistent aren't you Black?' I laughed as Sirius laced my hand with his, grasping it tightly. 'I may be known as the 'player' of Hogwarts, but you've peeked my interest y/n. You're one of 2 girls to never fall for my charms instantly and it only makes me more intrigued.' Sirius whispered to me. 'And who is the other person?' I questioned. 'The other is Evans but I think you know why that doesn't interest me.' Sirius laughed. I realised he was still holding onto my hand tightly when I looked over and saw James doing the same with Lily. 'Godric, you two are so similar!' I laughed, addressing James and Sirius. James and Lily seemed to have been having their own conversation while Sirius and I were talking. 'One. Date. Just one! And if you don't like that one date, I'll never ask again! Just give me a chance!' Sirius looked to me with big puppy dog eyes. 'Dream on Sirius' I laughed as the carriages pulled up at the castle and we walked out, Sirius still keeping a firm grip on my hand.
