꧁Dinner and a Letter?꧂

A/N - Quick trigger warning for vomit. I'll put a line at the start and end of the part it's mentioned. Enjoy the chapter!

'Kids! Christmas dinner is ready!' Euphemia shouted from downstairs. I must've fell asleep because I opened my eyes and found I was laying under a blanket with Sirius' arms around my shoulders and mine around his torso. Last I remember was us saying Merry Christmas to each other after we kissed and his arms were on my waist at that point. 'Did you have a good rest?' Sirius smiled as he leaned down and kissed my head. 'Yep, I did. We better go downstairs for dinner!' I smiled as I pushed myself up and pulled Sirius up with me. We walked downstairs, hand in hand. We were walking through the living room. 'Y/n watch out!' Sirius said before, Thud. I hit the floor. Then everything went dark.

I was just in the same darkness for a while, I couldn't open my eyes but I heard muffled voices. 'Sirius, calm down!' Was one of the things I heard. 'She's hurt!' I heard another voice say. 'Padfoot..' I heard before my hearing cut off again. I felt something being wrapped around me.

I slowly opened my eyes to be looking up at the ceiling. 'Sirius dear! Calm down! She's waking up!' I heard Euphemia say. 'What happened..?' I grumbled, sitting up. 'Y/n! Thank Godric! I was so worried! You were out cold for almost an hour!' Sirius was crouched beside me. I was laying down on the couch with a blanket around me. Sirius grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly. 'Y/n, an owl with a letter for you showed up. and it flew straight into your head, dear. You might have a slight concussion.' Euphemia said as she stroked my hair softly. 'A concus-' I started but cut myself off.

I cut myself off because I could feel vomit rising in my throat. I turned away from Sirius to see a bucket beside me. Thank Godric and is Glorious Beard! I thought. I grabbed the bucket quickly and spewed. 'It's okay, love. Don't hold back. It'll help.' Sirius said as he started rubbing my back to help me. 'D-Did I miss,' I stopped because I had to vomit again. 'Dinner?' I continued. 'Oh! No way kiddo! We'd never start without you!' Fleamont said with a comforting smile. After a few more minutes, my concussion eased a little and Euphemia was able to use a simple healing spell to stop the vomiting and dizziness.

I slowly got up, leaning on Sirius slightly for balance from the lightheaded-ness. We all walked into the kitchen and finally sat down at the dinner table. 'I'm really glad I enchanted the dinner to stay warm or it would've been cold by now y/n!' Euphemia laughed. 'Now! Let's tuck in! I, for one, am starving!' James announced. The five of us started to eat and the dinner was delicious! Once we were finished we all sat talking for a while. Sirius grabbed my hand at some point and started rubbing his thumb over my knuckles.

'Oh and the letter is here y/n. You should open it.' Fleamont said as he passed me the letter. I quickly opened it and it read -

Y/n! I need your help! This is urgent! I'm sorry to bother you but please! Come to my town as soon as possible! It's Severus, he's starting to threaten to hex my parents. He's scaring me. He said if they don't let them in he'll hex them and I don't know what to do. Please y/n, come help me!

My jaw dropped. 'We need to go. We need to go to Cokeworth right now.' I said as I jumped up. 'Why dear?' Euphemia asked. I pushed the letter into her hands as I ran upstairs to get a jacket and my shoes. While climbing the stairs I heard Euphemia say 'Oh in the name of Godric Gryffindor himself! We really do need to go! Boys get your jackets and shoes! We're going to Cokeworth!'

I heard footsteps follow behind me but I just ran to my room. I grabbed my favourite black jacket and threw on my black boots. 'Y/n, what's going on?' James asked, standing in my doorway. 'Cokeworth is Lily's town. Is something wrong?' He asked, panicked. 'Get your shoes and coat James. Now!' I demanded. I ran downstairs and waited. Everyone then joined me and a Muggle taxi was outside the house. We ran inside and told the driver to get to Cokeworth. Unknown to the Muggle driver, Euphemia cast a spell to make the trip go much faster. 'Thank you sir!' Fleamont said as he gave the Muggle driver money and we jumped out of the taxi. I spotted Lily's house straight away because she was stood in a second floor window and Snape was at her door.

I felt my blood boil as I walked up behind the greasy-haired boy. 'Get away from her house Snivellous. You wouldn't dare break the rules of no magic out of school!' I hissed. The boy snapped his head around to face me. 'Y/n, please. Talk some sense into her. I need to talk to her.' He pleaded. 'No way! Get away from her house Snivellous!' I growled. Snape lowered his head and backed away when he saw Euphemia and Fleamont approach. I looked up at Lily and smiled. She disappeared from the window and seconds later the door opened and I felt arms wrap around me. 'Thank you! Thank you so much!' She murmured in my ear. 'It's okay Lily, I'm here. You're safe.' I whispered as I let her go. 'Oh Lily Flower! You're okay!' James wrapped his arms around Lily. 'Hey Potter, thanks for coming to help.' She smiled. I felt Sirius wrap his arms around my waist and pull me into a hug. 'You were really brave. Prongs and I didn't even get the chance to get to him.' He whispered into my ear. 'Kids, you can stay here if you want for a couple hours and we'll collect you later?' Euphemia suggested. 'Oh please! If he comes back I'll need them to help me!' Lily pleaded, still wrapping her arms around James. 'Okay. We'll get you later!' Fleamont said as he and Euphemia walked away. 'It's okay Lily Flower. I'm here for you.' James said. 'Potter. Get away from her.' The familiar voice of Snape said from around the corner.

I may do an update either every day or like every 2 or 3 days. It all depends honestly. But I'm glad so many people are enjoying the story and I'll update soon!
