A few days had passed since I took the mandrake leaf out of my mouth. Lily, Dorcas, Mary and I were all sat in the library together studying. These three were among the six students who know I'm becoming an animagus, the other three being James, Sirius and Remus. Not even my brother knows. Well, back to the present! Dinner had just ended when we came in, I was reading a book about magical creatures called 'Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them' by Newt Scamander. Time seemed to fly by, I looked at the clock and it was around 9pm. Suddenly, a flash of lightning came from the window. 'Guys, I've got to go!' I jumped up. The lightning began to strike again. I ran towards the restricted section, I was pretty lucky to already be in the library. I grabbed the vial which was filled with just enough of a blood red potion.

I ran out of the library and headed to the whomping willow. I was gonna use the petrifying charm to freeze the tree. I took my wand and tapped my heart, reciting the incantation 'Amato Animo Animato Animagus!' And gulped the potion. 'MERLIN THAT BURNS!' I yelled. That feeling from a few nights ago, the tingly double heart thing, it was back but more distinct. I closed my eyes and there I saw it, the animal that would be my animagus form! I felt as though I could reach out to it and touch it. It was calming to look at. I opened my eyes and I was a lot smaller than I remembered. I saw my wand laying on the ground and reached out to grasp it when I saw a paw in the place of my hand. It worked! I'm an animagus! I leaned down and grasped my wand in my mouth, putting it under a small bush I found earlier and I ran towards the lake to see my reflection.

I arrived at the lake and looked into the water. I was right! My animagus form was a husky! After my excitement calmed down, my first thought was will I see Sirius? I mean, he is an animagus too. What if I run into him while he's in his animagus form and I don't recognise him? I huffed. 'I'm finally an animagus!' I said, it came out as loud barks. I heard a voice from behind me. 'That you are Miss Diggory and I am very proud!' The voice said, in the background I could hear the meow of a cat. Professor McGonagall! I turned to face the small cat. McGonagall transformed back. 'May I take a photograph Miss Diggory? You know, for your registration file.' McGonagall smiled down at me. I nodded and barked happily. A saw a flash and then McGonagall began to talk again. 'Since it is your first time transforming, I shall allow you to stay out after curfew. This will not be happening other than tonight, however.' McGonagall turned on her heel and left me.

I sat for a while, playing around in the water. I was still in awe of my appearance, I had a coat of pure white fur and dark, black eyes. While gazing at my reflection I heard a howl nearby. It wasn't the howl of a werewolf or a wolf, but the howl of another dog. I hesitated but decided to howl back. When I did, a dog appeared in the shadows, it was a black dog and it was around the same size as me, if not bigger. I locked eyes with the dog, it's yellow eyes gazing into my black ones. The dog barked softly at me and I heard a voice. 'Y/n, is that you?' The voice asked. It was very familiar. 'Yes, it is me.' The black dog then ran towards me and nuzzled the side of my neck. 'Your animagus form is beautiful. Not as beautiful as your human form but it's close enough. How lucky is it that our animagus forms go so well together, love?' The other dog said, barking in the background. I now realised why I recognised the voice. It was Sirius! 'Yep, very lucky for us indeed, Siri.' I yelped, wagging my tail and nuzzling him back. Sirius then transformed into his human form and sat down next to me. 'Who's a good girl?' He said while scratching behind my ear. I swear this boy. I love him but he can be annoying! I thought as I looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, quite literally. Sirius kissed the top of my head and I curled up in his lap. 'You gonna transform back anytime soon so we can talk to each other?' Sirius asked while chuckling. I looked up at him, still curled up in his lap and transformed again. I was now curled up in a ball as a human in Sirius' lap. 'Hello love' Sirius smiled down at me. 'Hi!' I said, sitting up, remaining in his lap. 'I think I understand why your nickname is Padfoot now.' I laughed, wrapping my arms around Sirius.

'Now we can run around the grounds together as dogs! Reek havoc, sneak around the castle!' Sirius laughed. We sat there for a while, talking about our animagus forms and how we could spend even more time together now we're both animagi. Whilst talking, we got onto the conversation of who we think would make good couples. 'Okay, I think Lils and Jamie are a definite. Dorcas and Marlene would be really cute. Mary and Remus seem like they'd get along..' I said. 'I agree with the first two but Remmy and Mary? That won't happen. I can't see Remus dating anyone.' Sirius stated.  'Oh and then there's Sirius Black, there's one person I can see him with but I don't know if I should say.. Shes really into him even though she tries to deny it.' Sirius smirked. 'And who might that be?' I asked. As a response, Sirius decided to kiss me. 'Does that answer your question?' He smirked. 'Miss Diggory it is-' started McGonagall. She saw Sirius and scowled at him. 'It's around time the two of you get back to the castle. Since Miss Diggory had my permission to be out after curfew, I won't say a word for her.' She paused. 'But you, Mr Black. You should not be out at such an hour and you know it!' McGonagall scolded Sirius. 'Come onnnnn Minnie! I wanted to make sure y/n here was safe!' McGonagall glared at Sirius for calling her 'Minnie'. She rolled her eyes and smiled. 'Just this once Sirius, I'll let it slide.' McGonagall then turned on her heel and left.

Sirius and I looked at each other, starting to laugh. 'Should we head to the castle?' I asked. 'Yes, Cotton.' Sirius smirked. 'Cotton? What's that about?' 'Well, your animagus is a white husky, white as a cotton ball in fact, so since Prongs and I have nick names based on our animagus forms, I thought you could have one too!' Before I could answer, Sirius jumped up and crouched over, as if to indicate for me to jump on his back. 'Cmon, I'll give you a ride to the castle!' I laughed as I jumped onto his back. As Sirius walked back to the castle with me on his back, I leaned forward slightly and kissed him on the cheek. 'Thank you for carrying me.' I whispered into his ear. 'No problem, y/n. But sadly I need to put you down, we're going to transform to get back without Filch finding us!' Sirius rested me on the floor. We both transformed quickly. We ran up the stairs, a lot quicker than we would've as a human. Just before we got into the range of sight of the fat lady, Sirius and I transformed back, just so Sirius didn't get caught as an unregistered animagus.

We told the fat lady the password and after scolding us for being out past curfew for a good few minutes, she let us in. I dove onto the couch, absolutely shattered. 'Go to bed. I'm staying here.' I told Sirius. I heard him chuckle before I heard footsteps go up the boys dorms stairs. 'Goodnight y/n/n, I love you.' Sirius whisper-yelled. 'Night Siri, I love you too!' I whisper yelled back before falling asleep on the couch.

I woke up at around 3 in the morning. I had a nightmare and I was crying. I was scared. 'Don't go, don't go, don't go.' I mumbled as I rocked back and forward. I heard footsteps from the boys dorms, it was James. I continued rocking back and forward, trying to stop crying. 'Oh, y/n you're here. Hey what are you doing-' James cut him self off when he saw my face. 'Merlin y/n are you okay? What's wrong?' James slid down next to me, wiping tears off my face. 'N-Nightmare. S-Siri, L-Lils and Y-You were taken a-away to St Mungo's c-cause I hurt you. A-All three of y-you' I mumbled between sobs. 'Hey it's okay y/n. We're all fine. I'm here, Sirius is asleep upstairs and Lily is probably asleep in the girl's dorms. Everything is fine.' James said as he pulled me into a hug. James always acted like I was his little sister, always looking out for me. 'T-Thank you Jamie. I-I dunno what I'd d-do without you.' I smiled weakly and hugged him back. 'Right, off to bed! You're really tired!' James then lifted me up and sat me on the stairs to the girl's dorms. 'Up you go! I'll see you tomorrow, y/n/n!' And with that, I headed to my dorm and the second I fell on my bed, I fell asleep.
