꧁Everything Fell Apart꧂

A few days have passed since I added to the map. I've barely saw James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Lily, Dorcas, Mary, Lucia or Marlene since we got back to Hogwarts. The girls and Remus have been busy studying all the time and I have absolutely no clue what the other three boys have been up to. On the rare occasion I've seen Sirius in these past few days, he smiled at me and waved slightly but never spoke at all.

I was sat in the common room prepping for my O.W.Ls when my owl dropped a letter on my lap. I quickly fed my owl and opened the letter. It read -

Dear Y/n,

Sorry I've not spoken to you in a while. Well, let me reword that, sorry I've been avoiding you recently. I dunno why but something feels sort of off between us. Also uh Remus spoke to me and said you two had this secret. Is it about me? If it is I thought we weren't going to keep anything from each other. Anyway, if you have something to tell me, send me a letter about it. I've been busy recently so I haven't been able to talk. It just feels really off between us. Maybe, just maybe, we need a break? I don't know but if you can, either owl me or get me up at the astronomy tower at 5pm tonight.

I felt tears start to well in my eyes. 'A break? Is this his way of saying he doesn't like me anymore?' I mumbled to myself. No, Sirius wouldn't do that, right? I thought. I looked over at the clock and saw it was almost 5. 'Well, better try to go see Padfoot then..' I said to myself. I pulled my robe on and headed to the astronomy tower. Once I got up, there was no sound what so ever, not even the sound of someone breathing. I looked around for a minute. No one was there. I sat down on the window ledge and looked down at the grounds below me, swinging my legs around. I started spinning my wand in my hands out of boredom while watching a few students walk around the grounds. I waited and waited before hearing the clock go off to indicate curfew. He never showed up.. I thought. I walked downstairs and went into the common room. There were the marauders, all four of them sat on the couch. I ran straight to my dorm, tears in my eyes. 'Hey y/n! I haven't seen you in ages! Come sit with us!' James shouted when I was halfway up the stairs. 'N-No thanks James. I-I'm f-fine.' I stuttered as I ran into my dorm.

James' POV -

Y/n ran off into the dorms after I shouted to her. 'What was that about then?' I asked. My eyes flicked from the stairs to Sirius. 'Shit! I was meant to meet her at the Astronomy Tower at 5, that must be where she was!' Sirius said. 'Sirius. I told you what would happen if you hurt her.' I hissed. 'I know Prongs! I didn't actually mean to stand her up! I just forgot!' Sirius groaned. I just glared at him. 'Fix it. Fix it now.' I growled. 'Y/N? CAN YOU COME DOWN PLEASE? I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!' I shouted upstairs. 'JAMIE I DONT WANT TO! I KNOW YOUR TRYING TO GET ME TO TALK TO HIM.' Y/n shouted back, her voice was filled with venom when she said the word 'him'. Fair enough, Sirius did leave her in the astronomy tower alone for hours! 'See. She won't even talk to me.' Sirius huffed. 'Well, I didn't exactly imply I'd talk to her in the letter..' Sirius mumbled, but I heard him. 'Letter? What did you say?' I glared at Sirius. 'I sort of said we might need a break..' he mumbled. 'ARE YOU BLOODY INSANE SIRIUS?! WHAT WOULD POSSESS YOU TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO HER?!? SHE'S LIKE A SISTER TO ME AND YOU'VE PROBABLY BROKE HER HEART!' I screamed. I quickly started running up the girls dorms stairs, I managed to run fast enough that the stairs couldn't catch on. I crashed into the door and walked into y/n's dorm. 'Are you okay? That bloody idiot told me what he said to you. I'll kill him!' I grumbled. I looked at y/n, she was buried under her duvet and I could feel her shaking. 'Please, come out from under the duvet so I can give my little sister a hug and a cookie.' I smiled softly down at the duvet, holding a cookie in my hand. Y/n poked her head out from under the duvet, her eyes were red and puffy. 'Godric's name! You shouldn't cry over him y/n!' I said as I hugged her and handed over the cookie.
