It feels like it's been forever since I've been at King's Cross Station. It was officially the start of my sixth year at Hogwarts. My first year there without Amos being there. I stood before the wall between platforms nine and ten, same way I would every year. I said goodbye to my parents and casually walked through the wall.
The first thing I saw when I got through the wall was the familiar scarlet train. I glanced around quickly to see all the new first years rushing around with worried looks on their faces, seventh years stressing over Newts already and then my eyes fell onto a very familiar head of red hair. I skipped over and tapped my best friend lightly on the shoulder. 'Yes?' She said as she turned. 'Good to see you too, Lils.' I laughed. 'Y/n! Oh my gosh hey!' She said as she pulled me into a tight hug. 'Miss me did you?' I laughed. 'Yep! A lot!' She smiled. We got onto the train together and found an empty compartment. We put our trunks above us before sitting down. We both spoke for a little while before we both took out our books and started reading. We had some peace and quiet for about ten minutes, both of us had got on the train very early, but our peace was shattered.
A loud crash came from the hallway of the train, instantly causing Lily and I to get up. 'What in Merlin's name is happening?' Lily said as she looked out the door of the compartment. She stepped back in wit a bored expression on her face then pulled me back to my seat before I could poke my head out of the compartment. She then closed the blinds so we couldn't see into the hallway and no one could see in. 'Want to tell me what the noise was, Lils?' I asked. 'Why, none other than James and Sirius. Who else would cause trouble on the Hogwarts Express?' She said while rolling her eyes. 'So, why did you close the blinds?' I asked as I tilted my head to the side. 'I closed the blinds because I want a peaceful train ride to start my year!' Lily laughed. We went back to our reading until a couple minutes later there was a knock at the compartment door. I lifted the blinds slightly to see Sirius and James outside. I then whispered 'Lily, it's them.' Lily looked at me and shook her head as if to say don't let them in. 'Come on! We've checked all the other compartments and they're full! Remus and Pete found somewhere to sit but didn't have room for us! Please let us in!' Came James' pleading voice. 'Yeah, please! We don't want to sit in the bathroom!' Sirius said. 'Lily, we need to let them in!' I said. Lily groaned then lifted the blinds and let them in.
James plopped down beside Lily while Sirius plopped down beside me. 'Were you two trying to hide from us?' James asked. 'Yes, we were, James. We wanted a peaceful train ride for once.' Lily said and I tried my best not to laugh. 'Now, y/n, you wouldn't want to hide from me, would you?' Sirius said as he took my book from me, surprisingly he put a bookmark in for me before closing it. 'Sirius! I was reading that!' I said as I lightly swatted his arm. 'You know, this year your brother isn't here. Which means that if I kiss you in the great hall or have my arm around your waist, I won't get into bother from him!' Sirius laughed as he draped his arm over my shoulder. 'Sirius, you'll still get into trouble from the teachers if you kiss y/n in the great hall.' Lily said before going back to talking with James. Sirius rolled his eyes then pulled me closer to him. "So, how much did you miss me over the summer?" Sirius said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes but I rested my head on his shoulder while I did. "Not much. I saw you during the summer, after all. I missed Lily a ton though." I said with a shrug. "Well, since I'm such a lovesick pup, I missed you more and more every day you weren't with me!" Sirius said with one of his usual smirks. "I swear if you're just as immature this year as last year, Siri, I'm going to end up hexing you!" I laughed. Sirius hooked a finger under my chin and made me look at him. "Now, would he be able to hex me, love?" He said with the same smirk plastered on his face. "Probably not, but I could do something much worse." I said proudly. "And what might that be?" He asked. "No kisses for a week. How about that?" I said with a smirk. "No! That's not fair!" Sirius said, faking a complete meltdown. "Stop being such a drama queen for goodness sake Sirius!" I laughed, whacking him again. "Okay, okay." Sirius said in defeat then he gave me back my book. I resumed reading but this time I had my human pillow with me.
The train ride was a fast one, I think I might have fell asleep when I was leaning on Sirius. I changed into my robes before we got to the school like I always do. "Y/n/n! Don't leave me with the boys!" Lily pleaded as we headed to the carriages. "Lilyyyy! I want to ride with the girls for once!" I said, laughing. "Come on Lily! We're not that bad!" James said trying to drag Lily away from the girls and I. "Bye Lily! Have fun with James, Sirius, Remus and Peter!" I laughed before jumping into a carriage with Marlene, Mary, Dorcas, Alice and a girl named Hestia Jones that Alice was friends with. We talked and laughed the whole way there. It was really fun. That was, until...
"So! A marauder is finally off the market! James Potter the first of the four to get a partner for more than a week! Who do you girls think will be next? I think it'll be Sirius, I mean, look at the boy! I have some hopes that it might be Sirius with me if I'm honest!" Hestia said with slightly dreamy eyes. The other girls quickly looked at me. "Uhm, Hestia, I hate to break it to you but... Sirius has been off the market for almost a year now." I said through gritted teeth. "Oh really? Who managed to snatch hi hi then?" Hestia said, sounding defeated. "I did." I said coldly. "Oh my merlin! I'm so so so sorry y/n!" She said with a fake smile. "Don't worry about it. Oh look, we're at the school!" I said before quickly getting out the carriage. I heard a voice behind me as I rushed off. "You better not try mess with her relationship. If you do, you'll have us and Lily Evans to deal with!" It was Mary. I smiled, glad that my friends had my back. I got the the entrance hall and waited for Lily and the boys. When Lily appeared, She ran to me and whacked my arm. "Never leave me with those boys again!" She complained as I rubbed my arm. "Sorry Lils. I wish I hadn't though, found out that someone fancies my boyfriend which isn't too delightful." I groaned. "Who?!" Lily asked, her expression turning angry. "Hestia Jones, yknow, Alice's friend from her year." Lily nodded at me. "I mean, at least she won't be here next year!" Lily laughed as the boys walked into the entrance hall. "Hey hey!" James said with a smile. "Y/n, good to see you!" Remus smiled at me. "Good to see you too, Remus." I smiled. We all just stood there, waiting for the professors to let us in.
A/N - Hi! I'm really sorry I've not updated this in forever, I've not got too many ideas for what to do for sixth year so suggestions would be appreciated! In my plan, I want the story to come to a close at the end of seventh year then have two more chapters on the future. Anyway, thank you for so many reads! When I started this story, I never expected it to go so far. I thought it would maybe get a few reads but not nearly as much as 35k! Thank you all so so much! I'll see you all soon! Stay safe ❤️
