Chapter 23

Brenton's POV

We have been bowling for at least an hour now and I as of right now I am in the lead with Cord right behind and then you have Tide in last place. "GUTTER BALL!" Yells Knox as he gets up from his chair and Bay cusses under his breath. "Maybe if you paid more attention to the game then striking out with the waitress you would be doing better." Knox laughs teasing Bay who rolls his eyes and lightly shoves him, "Fuck off pretty boy." Bay hisses as he sits on one of the chairs and Knox walks up to the lane to take his turn.

"Brenton?" I hear my name being called as Brick and Cord sit down on either side of me. "This can't be good if both of you are here." I say in a joking manner before taking a drink of my beer. "Where is Mandi tonight?" Brick asks taking a drink of his beer as he raises an eyebrow. "Why would I know?" I ask as Brick and Cord share the same look between them.

"We just thought that after how close the two of you got while overseas that would be information that you would know." I give Cord a dirty look taking another sip of my beer. "Either shut your mouth right now or keep talking and my fist will shut your mouth for you." I growl at him getting up from my seat and just like that Cord and I are nose to nose with Brick between us trying to keep the peace. "This is not the place for knuckles." Brick says but I scoff at him,

"If he wants to fight then I have no problem embarrassing him in front of his girl." I snap shoving Brick out of my way. "At least my girl isn't wasting her time with me, I can't say the same thing about Quinn." Cord hisses shoving me then throws his beer in my face. "Come on string bean, you wanted to be the man overseas let's see how much of a man you are now that you are at home." I chuckle a little bit wiping my face off before shrugging my shoulders and tackling Cord to ground.

"GUYS!" Brick yells trying to separate us but he can't do it by himself. I throw a haymaker type punch which connects with Cord's jaw but before I can another shot in Cord punches me in the face sending me backwards which is enough space for Cord to push me off of him sending me crashing into the table knocking it over along with everything that was on top of it. "You want to square up to me you better be ready!" Cord yells getting back to his feet as I wipe the blood from my nose and stand back up to my feet.

"Let's knuckle then!" I yell easily dodging a right hook from Cord before grabbing his arm and twisting it and knee him in his gut. Cord takes a few deep breaths as I the guys starts trying to separate us but that doesn't stop the fight because I see Cord stand back up right and roll his neck, then the next thing I know Cord launches himself forward sending up both of us tumbling over onto the lane floor. Cord and I throw as many punches as we can at each other until the two of us are finally pulled apart by the guys.

"Yeah you are big and tough because the other guys are here to hold me back." Cord growls still trying to get at me but Bay and Tide stop him as I stand there and catch my breath. "Whenever you want to finish this I will be waiting." I say back to Cord before Knox leads Cord away into a separate part of the alley trying to talk him down. "What was that about?" Quinn asks me with a panic type look on her but instead on answering her I just roll my eyes and walk off wanting to be alone right now. 

Quinn's POV

I stand there in shock as Brenton storms out of the bowling alley still trying to wrap my head around of the drag out fist fight that just happened in front of my eyes with Brenton and Cord who are supposed to be best friends. "Later girls." Erin says giving Penelope and I a weak smile before rushing off to check on Cord. "You weren't kidding about what you said earlier." Penelope just rolls her eyes with a look of annoyance on her face which I hope is directed towards the boys and not myself.

"Just another fun night ruined by the boys." Penelope mocks with sarcastic look on her face before grabbing her stuff and walking off to check on Brick, letting out a deep breath gathering up my stuff along with Brenton's before heading to front.

 I head outside and see on one side of the parking lot is Bay, Tide, and Erin still trying to cool down Cord while on the other side of the parking lot is Brick, Penelope, and an unknown female with dark brown hair trying to cool down Brenton.

"I don't remember seeing her inside." I say out loud to myself as I walk over to Brenton and the group. Once I am close enough I see the girl is about my height, around the same age as me with green eyes, and what I call major sex appeal going on considering what she is wearing. "Brenton are you okay?" I ask walking up to the group and Brenton nods his head taking a hit off his cigarette and I turn my attention to the girl who isn't Penelope,

"I don't we have been introduced, I am Quinn." The young woman looks me up and down almost sizing me up before looking over at Brenton then finally back to me. "Mandi Hazelwood." I take a step back as Brick, Penelope, and Brenton look between Mandi and I with all different looks on their faces. "It is nice to finally meet you, some of the guys and girls have told me about you." Mandi smirks looking down at the ground and tucks a strain of her hair behind her ear.

"I am sure they have, I have to say that I curious about what they told you." Before I can answer her Brenton clears his throat and takes my hand pulling me to his side. "Marshmallow, we need to start heading home." I look at the clock on my phone and nod my head, "It was nice meeting you." I say adjusting my purse on my shoulder before getting into the car as I wait while Brenton says goodbye to everyone before heading back home.
