Chapter 54

Quinn's POV

"I was looking for Nick, but I will settle with the secondary prize of getting my hands on you for what you pulled at the bonfire party tonight." I growl wanting nothing more than to punch her in the face. 

"Just because your Marine did the smart thing by kicking your cheating butt to the curb doesn't mean you can come sniffling around here for my boyfriend." Nikki says looking in the mirror applying lipstick. "I thought all of this was over after the last time you stepped foot in this apartment." Nikki smacks her lips putting the lipstick back into her purse. 

"I still refuse to forgive Nick what he did, but I also see Nick as a friend." Nikki rolls her eyes and a look of annoyance appears on her face. "GET OUT!" Yells Nikki snarls at me tossing her hair over her shoulder and walks into the living room part of the apartment sitting down on the couch.

 "Where is Nick?" I ask standing in front of Nikki who ignore and starts flipping through the channels. "That is none of your concern since he wants nothing more to do with you and wants you out of his life for good." I roll my eyes grabbing the remote from her and tossing it. "You will understand if I choose to hear that from Nick and not take your word for it." I snap as Nikki stands up as the two of us go face to face.

 "Why don't you just face the truth Quinn, you lost because you play checkers while I play chess, and after tonight I checkmated on your life." I nod my head with a smile on my face. 

"You really think that because if you knew what Nick was doing at my house a couple of days ago you would out this high and mighty attitude in check." I see the anger on Nikki's eyes before feeling her fist connect with my cheek. 

"You wouldn't hurt a pregnant woman would you?" She asks in a very taunting tone of voice. "You can't hide behind that baby forever." I growl just before the elevator dings again and Nikki and I both turn our attention to the elevator doors which open to reveal Alexa. 

"That concierge at the front desk takes his job way too seriously." She says walking out of the elevator and taking in the scene in front of her. "I tried to call you and warn you that she was here." I look at Nikki who scoffs and walks away heading into the kitchen. 

"You two get stepping and don't let the elevator doors hit you on your way out." I start to walk towards the kitchen but Alexa stops me. "You better get your roommate before I do something I regret." I snap knowing that I am taking my anger out on the wrong person. 

"I know the bad blood between you two, but there will be a time and a place to settle it, and right now in this apartment is not it." I know Alexa is right but right now all I am seeing is red.

 "It got settled tonight, and if I were you Alexa I wouldn't be getting into the middle of things that don't concern you." Nikki walks back into the living room with a glass of grape juice and sits back down on the couch but what catches my attention is how that threat from Nikki seems to have stuck a bad cord with Alexa. 

"Don't start with me Nikki, because you should know that I am the very last person you want against you." Alexa says turning around to face Nikki. "I am not scare of you little girl, and you better remember that since I am your roommate I can make your life very difficult." Alexa laughs and I am starting to think that I am not the only one with unresolved issues with Nikki. 

"You're going to make my life difficult? Please Nikki we both know that I can take you down without even laying a hand on you." Nikki's eyes go big and for the first time in a while I see true fear in her eyes. 

"You ruined the party tonight because you wanted to expose Quinn lying to Brenton. Well look at the pot calling the kettle black." Nikki shots up from the couch getting into the face of Alexa but Alexa shoves her back down onto the couch. 

"Sit down because right now I am beyond tried of everything about you Nikki, and I am done covering for you." I look between Alexa and Nikki without a single clue on what is going on between them right now. "I feel like I am missing something here, could one of you please fill me in." Alexa nods her head and turn to face me. 

"Nikki's pregnancy is a sham, she has been lying to everyone especially Nick just to hold on to him." I look at Nikki completely shocked and disgusted. "Now hold on, it is true that my option of Nikki is as low as it can get, but to fake a pregnancy is a type of low that I don't think even Nikki would go." Alexa laughs again and the mixture of emotions on the face of Nikki tells me that there is more to this story. 

"You would think that because you are a good person Quinn, but I know this for a fact the pregnancy test she showed Nick wasn't her test to being with." I look over at Nikki with a look I know all to well, it is look like your world is shattering to pieces. 

"Who test did she show to Nick?" I ask and Alexa gets suddenly quite as I start pulling all the pieces together. "Nikki and you are roommates. Alexa are you telling me that Nikki used your test to make Nick think she was having his baby?" Alexa nods her head with tears running down her cheeks, 

"The truth is that I am the one is pregnant. Nikki said that she would take care of the test before Chris showed up to spend the weekend with me, and I didn't know what she really did with it until weeks later but by then she threatened to tell Chris." The sound of something falling on the floor make the three us turn towards the elevator and it is right now that all of notice that this conversation is no longer between the three of us but the four of us now because standing in the elevator is Nick.
