Chapter 52

Quinn's POV

"Do you want to talk about it?" Alexa asks breaking the awkward silence in the car. "What is there to talk about? I mean other than the fact that my boyfriend and I both cheated on each other then left things completely unresolved." I say looking out the window with a sigh. 

"You know that you can talk to me about anything since I am not a core member of the group." I look over at her with a serious look but that quickly turns into a smile. "You are dating one of my best friends, and that to me makes you family." Alexa smiles back at me and I do have to say that being around Alexa is different than being around the others. 

"If you love Brenton then why did you sleep with Nick?" Alexa asks straight out kind of reminding me of Tiffany. "Because I knew I had feelings for him but I wasn't sure how deep those feelings ran, and I thought that the only way to know once and for all was to sleep with him." Alexa turns a corner and out of the blue I start feeling like there is only one place that I want to be tonight, and home isn't the answer. 

"Pull over Alexa, now please." Alexa gives me concerned look but slowly pulls over and stops the car. "I thought I was taking you home, that way you could be alone to figure what you truly want and where your relationship stands." I unbuckle my seat belt and get out of car with Alexa not far behind me. "Quinn where are you going? You are acting crazy." I just glance at her grabbing my purse out of the car and sling it over my shoulder. 

"You are just going to have to trust me when I say that it is for the best that you don't know." Alexa grabs my arm as I try to figure out which to go. "I don't want to get you in the middle of this situation I am in, and if you help me then it will be putting your relationship with Chris on the line." I am a little caught off guard when Alexa start laughing. 

"You let me worry about my relationship with my boyfriend, now tell me what is going on because you are starting to scare me." She takes my hand leading me over to a bench that is not far from her car. "I am not going home, I am going to the Allure Tower complex." Alexa throws her head back letting out a massive groan. "What do I get the feeling that has something to do with Nick?" I run my fingers through my hair trying to think straight. 

"You really think after everything that went down tonight it is the best idea for you to go running to him of all people?" I lean back against the bench feeling like have reached fork in the road and no clue which path is the right one. 

"You don't get it Alexa, I have spent what feels like my whole life walking down this one path, but when Brenton left and I returned home I stopped dead in my tracks." Alexa nods her head putting her arm around me. "Then Nick entered your life." I nod my head laughing to cover up my crying. "Before I knew it Nick had me walking down a completely new path and the scary thing is that I didn't mind." I slowly pull away from Alexa, 

"I think the reason that Nick is important to you is because he was there for you when Brenton couldn't be." I nod my head feeling tears stream down my face. "The two of you were showing each other that the world will not come to an end because you allow yourself to embrace a part of you that think people wouldn't except." Alexa stands up and fixes herself. 

"Come on lets go, and if anyone asks I will tell everyone that you said that you wanted a walk and some fresh air." She says walking over to her car and I stand up wiping the tears from my eyes before hugging her. "I feel horrible making you lie to everyone especially Chris." Alexa pulls out of the hug. 

"You're not making me lie Quinn, but I see this as a way for you to answer the question of what or who you truly want." Alexa gets in her car and starts it before reaching over and opening the passenger side door. "Chris really hit the jackpot with you." I say getting into the car and closing the door.

 "I know what it is like when your world is turned upside down Quinn, and what is most important during that time is the people you surround yourself with." I look at Alexa speechless for a moment thinking that Alexa is certainly wise beyond her years. "Thank you Alexa." She smile nodding her head before heading off. 

We pull up to the front of the Allure Tower complex. "I would come with you, but I think this is something that you should do alone but call me if you need me." I nod my head getting out of the car and head inside making my way to the elevator only to get the attention of the concierge at the front desk, "Excuse me Ms." He yells and I turn around with an annoyed look on my face. 

"I remember you. The young lady who spent all night with Mr. Romero, then came back down the next morning wearing the exact same clothes from the night before and crying her eyes out." I roll my eyes at the nosey man. 

"I need to see Nick." The concierge shakes his head. "Mr. Romero has asked that his apartment be undisturbed." I smile at the concierge as the elevator doors open. 

"I think Mr. Romero would make an exception if he knew it was me asking." Before the concierge can say anything more I step into the elevator and pressing the button labeled P.H. and the last thing I see before the doors shut is the concierge picking up the phone.
