This is one of my more favorite stories and the beginning is somewhat similar to the last story I feel like, but i came up with this idea like almost 3 months ago ._. Also lol this was when the Skeppy and Sapnap meet up was somewhat relevant when I thought of this. Also I'm using their real names in this and it's so hard to break the habit like omg-

Zak mindlessly scrolled through Twitter, it was the easiest way to prevent him from having another breakdown. Nick was hiding in his room not wanting to interact with Zak on this depressing day.

Today was the anniversary of the death of their close friend, Darryl. It was the day before Halloween when it happened and Darryl had died a cruel death.

The day the death happened it was six months since they all moved in together. Nick had other friends he could move in with, but chose not to and to move in instead with his friend Darryl. Zak and Nick had never met before, but Darryl had brought them together. Darryl was the glue that held them together when it came to issues.

The three on that day, decided to go to a restaurant, it's not like they had anything else to do on the day before Halloween anyway. When they had finished all of their meals and left the restaurant, there was rustling in the bushes, heard by Darryl, but he didn't say anything. The others picked up on the noises and rushed to get in the car, it could have been a squirrel for all they knew. Darryl lingered for a little longer not worried about the noises, until he heard a click and a loud bang. Nick and Zak watch their friend crumple to the ground and a blurry, black shape dash from the bushes. Zak and Nick were already in the car by the time the murder happened so they were safe from the attack.

The two rushed out of the car and knelt next to their friend. Zak kept pleading Darryl to hold on, trying to keep what little life was left in him to stay. A small amount of blood trickled its way down Darryls chin, making him look completely dead.

Nick's hands were shaking as he grabbed his phone and called the police. The police arrived and took Darryl away to the hospital. Nick and Zak stayed next to Darryl in the ambulance the entire time, not wanting to leave his side.

By the time the three had gotten to the hospital, Darryl was gone, they watched someone murder their friend for no reason. The two were sent to go home since their friend was already dead, the two walked back to the parking lot the car was sitting in.

The two drove home silently, Zak was driving and Nick was sitting silently in the passenger seat. The next two weeks after that happened the two didn't talk to each other and barely got out of their rooms. The two ended up being decent friends with each other, they were forced to since they were roommates after all.

Zak scrolled through Twitter even more, trying not to focus on the dates of recent tweets. A random tweet popped into his feed, it looked interesting, it was about a haunted house near their area and it looked to be open today. Maybe going to a haunted house would be a good distraction from the sad day.

Zak got up from the chair his was sitting in and headed to Nick's room. Zak knocked on the door once, no answer. He then vigorously knocked on the bedroom door and was then greeted with a sad face.
"Hi Nick." Zak said to his roommate, trying to keep himself together.
"Hey Zak..." Nick said, then began to trail off at the end.
"So I was thinking... that today maybe we could do something. There's this cool looking haunted house we could go to, since ya know, it's almost Halloween." Zak said to Nick, hoping he could not only distract Nick, but also himself.
"It sounds cool..." Nick said to Zak.

The two planned to go to the haunted house at 11:00 pm, to get a more spooky feeling. Zak may not have liked scary stuff that much but it was a nice change.

The two got out of the house, the moon shining in the sky. The haunted house was about three miles away from their home so it wasn't a long drive. The two got in Zak's car and Zak started it up.

Zak parked the car on the side of the street, nobody else seemed to be at the haunted house which was a bit concerning. It looked more like an abandoned house than a human-made haunted house. Zak shrugged and walked towards the door to the home, Nick scanned the outside of the house then silently followed Zak to the door.

Nobody was there for them to be greeted by, but Zak and Nick weren't exactly sure how haunted houses worked. The two walked in through the massive double doors and started to walk down the long hallway. The house seemed to be bigger on the inside than it was on the outside, almost like magic.

The two walked through the hallways further and further, until they couldn't see the exit through the darkness. The two had luckily brought their phones so they used them as flashlights, but there was no deliberate scares that they ran into.
"Maybe this wasn't a fake haunted house... maybe this was a real haunted house..." Zak said to Nick, wondering why nothing had happened yet. Nick looked at Zak in confusion.
"Ghost aren't real Zak, cmon this probably just closed maybe." Nick said then headed further down the hall.

"Zak, let's just go. There's nothing here." Nick said then turned the other way in the seemingly endless hallway. Zak sighed at his failed plan then headed towards the front door.

As the two roommates finally reached the front door, it was closed unlike how they left it. Zak pulled on the door knob and the door didn't budge, Zak pulled harder and it still didn't move or shake at all.
"I think we're locked in..." Zak spoke to Nick, Nick's eyes went wide in fear and he looked down the hallway.
"I think I saw a balcony when we came in, so we just have to find out way there." Nick said, then Zak sighed with relieve.
