Characters involved:
Dream, GeorgeNotFound, possibly some friends
——
"Another one?" George said to himself as he stared at his phone screen. There had recently been many murders near where Dream lived in Florida and George was beginning to nervous.

"Hey Dream! Just making sure your safe." George said to Dream over the phone.
"George you need to stop looking at those news articles. I'm going to be fine and don't worry, I'm not going to get murdered." Dream said back to his friend.
"Just- this is going to sound stupid... but the news describes them as murders made by vampires." George said, then ended his sentence with an embarrassed whisper.
"George, vampires aren't real, people probably are just setting the murders up like that since it's near Halloween." Dream said back, trying to calm his friend, George let out a frustrated huff as a response.
"I guess, just... stay safe." George finished.
"Bye George."
"Bye Dream."

Dream set down his phone and flopped onto his bed. He was starting to get tired about constantly lying to his close friends, it was really draining. He absentmindedly began to trace his own fangs with his tongue while staring at his ceiling.

Yes, Dream had been committing the murders, but he wished he didn't have to. It wasn't very easy to find blood to drink, people aren't necessarily willing to donate their blood to a vampire. Dream could also drink blood from store bought things, but that was the equivalent to starving himself.

He could eat normal food and blend in, besides the fangs part though. The fact that he actually needed to drink the blood of something didn't help the blending in part either. He didn't mean to kill the people exactly, but the fact that vampires need quite a bit of blood to be well, the victims would die from loss of blood. The fact that he had fangs and was also one of the many reasons he hadn't done a face reveal yet.

George was constantly worrying about him and he wished he could just tell his friend that he was a vampire. He didn't know how they would react, but knowing his friends, they most likely would be horrified.

George read over more news articles about the murders in Florida, getting more and more worried. He was extremely tempted to calm Dream again, but held back the urge. Dream said he was fine, and George just had to believe him.

George kept scrolling through the articles, seeing how sad people were when their family member died of the vampires... Would I be that sad if Dream died? George asked himself; he began to get addicted to the news articles. None of the articles seemed to be fully accurate, seeing that the stories from the same person changed constantly with different news networks.

George had spent hours just reading from article to article, mindlessly reading through them to take in their information. Dream said that vampires weren't real, but George had so much evidence stacked against that. He wasn't going to call Dream, well not tonight at least. He would just scroll through the articles until he fell asleep.

Dream stared out his window, feeling that same empty feeling from the nights before. He needed to have at least one drink of blood a day, or else the suffering would really start.

The crescent moon shined through the clouds, illuminating the ground below. All he would have to do, was go as a bat and sneak up on someone. He wouldn't even have to kill the person, only if he could stop himself...

Dream went out onto his balcony and let the cool wind of the night blow in his face. He climbed over the railings of his balcony and sat staring at the moon. He restrained from looking down at the ground below him, despite being able to to turn into a bat and save himself in a moment, he never liked heights.

"Just one person, just one drink..." Dream mumbled, then looked out at the distant yards of his neighbors houses. Dream closed his eyes and slid off the balcony, he never liked doing it, but it was necessary.

Dream felt his body weight get lighter and his body shrink, this was always a weird part about being a vampire. Dream flapped his tiny bat wings and flew off into the main part of the city.

Dream landed on a street light and watched one or two people pass by. Dream flew from pole to pole, looking for isolated people.

Finally, Dream had found one and they were near an alleyway. Flying down into the dark alleyway, he landed as a human with a soft thud. Flipping up the hood of his hoodie, Dream walked into the streets near the person and stopped them.

The person stared at Dream for a moment with a puzzled glance. Dream put on a bit of flirty, vampire charm and the stranger's worries immediately melted away.

Dream bit into the strangers neck and took a small amount of blood. He then tried to pull away to let the person forget about the painful moment. His vampire instincts kept him drinking until he was satisfied and not just able to live.

One side of Dream's mind kept trying to pull away from them, but the other side told him to keep drinking until this stranger could provide no more.

Dream broke away and the person flopped to the sidewalk, they seemed to be unconscious but then again they did loose a ton of blood. Dream hungrily licked his lips clean of all excess blood, Dream then knelt next to the stranger feeling for their heartbeat.

There was a slow thumping in their chest and their breathing was slow. They seemed to be fine on their own and it was a busy night so someone would find them. Dream sighed and stared at the person he wanted to help so bad, the fangs on him would be a dead giveaway though when it came to calling the police.

Dream closed his eyes and felt that strange feeling again, taking a finale glance at the unconscious human, he flew back to his home.
