It took Dream only five minutes to fly back to his home to check the time.

5:59am

Dream sighed in relief at the time, he still had at least 40 minutes until the sun was up. Dream flew off his balcony again and scoured the streets for just one person.

Dream kept on flying, getting nearly 30 minutes away from his home if he were to walk. It would only take 15 minutes to fly back home at this rate, and it would take five minutes to actually be satisfied blood wise.

Dream spotted a person and didn't care at all what they saw; a small amount of light could be seen on the horizon, Dream had less than 20 minutes...

Dream quickly charmed the person, not even bothering to take in their features. The person stared at Dream in a sudden mindless awe and Dream made his move.

Dream swiftly bit down on this new person's neck and sucked blood out of their neck. Dream pulled away after what seemed like an eternity, it had to have been at least 7 minutes...

The person dropped on to the side walk and Dream heard a small thump as he wiped the blood off his mouth. Dream gladly didn't recognize the person he may have accidentally killed, it wasn't good that he didn't know them, but it was better than killing a friend. Dream look at the sun and watched its slow rise, he had to go, and he had to go fast.

Dream ran towards his house, trying to get momentum for when he would take off. The sun was gladly several minutes behind him after he had taken off. He flapped his small bat wings as he neared his house.

Dream tumbled onto his balcony doing an accidental summer salt, he was unable to stick a proper landing since he was rushing at the nearing daylight. Dream took a massive deep breath in then out as he watched the sun come up. Dream stood himself up then opened his door, Dream closed the door and the blinds behind him, not wanted to ever even look at the sun again.

When Dream had first become a vampire... he had an experience when messing with the sun. He was always taught in stories that vampires couldn't be in the sun, or else they would be in extreme pain and maybe even die.

17 year old Dream decided to test the limits of being a vampire, he was going to be in the sun for a little. Nothing too bad could happen, he would just go back inside if things got real awful. He heard that stuff from the stories anyways, that didn't mean it had to be real.

It was early in the morning so his parents still weren't up. It was a miracle how Dream had been able to hide the fact he was a vampire for so long. Dream stepped out of the front door, gently closing it behind him. The light gave off a comfortable warmth, not too hot, not too cold.

Dream smiled, he felt fine, maybe all those stories were just lies that spread throughout history. Dream breathed in the damp morning air and looked around, the seeming invisible birds chirped in the silence. Dream's t-shirt ruffled in the soft breeze, it was amazing not to worry about this for once.

Dream stood outside and the sun's rays began to get more concentrated than just the morning light. Dream heard a small hissing noise and felt a stinging in his hand. Dream looked at his hand that seemed to be turning an agitated red. Dream eyes widened and he went to go back inside, Dream pulled on the door but the door was locked.

He apparently forgot to unlock the door when he came out. The door at his parents house was always sort of broken, you could open it from the inside and it would unlock. When you would close it again though, it would automatically lock again, causing the person to be locked out.

Dream had forgotten the key step to his safety; his parents didn't know about his issue and if they found him like this... Dream shook the thought out of his head and went back to opening the door. The sun caused the first degree burns on Dream's skin to spread all over. The stinging reached his face and pained tears threatened to spill. It was such a stupid idea to do this, of course the stories would be right! Vampires existed in the first place why would 'fiction' books tell lies about 'fictional' creatures.

Dream's skin burned and he gave up on opening the door, there was no hope for that. Dream just needed to get in his bedroom, maybe he could fly up to his window and open it from the outside... It was a stretch, but the vampire seemed to have nothing else to do. Dream felt himself turn into a bat and his burns shrank with him. Dream gritted his teeth and flew to his window, he pulled at the window and had nothing. He went as a human as well, trying to pry at the closed window, nothing.

His parents' property had no trees or bushes he could hide in... maybe he could go through vents or something. Dream flew up to the roof and his skin felt as if it was going to fall off why moment. Dream found the air vent from the roof and slipped through the small gap, luckily no cold or hot air was running through the house since the night was just enough to be satisfactory. Dream's actively burning skin was replaced with just a lingering unbearable sting when he slipped into the shade of the vents.

Dream dropped through the stopped fan and was met with cobwebs, so many cobwebs... Dream mentally mapped out the house in his mind then went forward towards his room. Taking a left then a right he saw through the vent above his bed. Dream bent the flexible metal panels that directed where the air went. Dream slipped through the panels as a bat then dropped on his bed as a human and glared at his 2nd degree burns.

Dream shivered at bringing the memory back, the vampire closed the rest of his blinds and sighed again. George was probably going to call him soon he had to get sleep while he could.

One of the plus sides of having a job that went on your own schedule. Was the fact that you could get away with sleeping in the day when you can only go out at night.

Dream flopped down on his bed, not caring of the close call or the possibility of having killed someone; closing his eyes, he fell asleep.
