His Seer Mate

ABSENCE

Narrator:

The following day was a new day for everyone, the pack was happy upon hearing of the safe arrival of their King, although they didn't know the entire story they were still glad regardless that he had returned, that wasn't the only reason they were happy though, some had thought the King had finally found his mate, of course those who had seen him carry the woman to his quarters were quick to spread the "goodnews" amongst pack members, but then as we all know :everyone can't possibly be happy every time.

Back at the King's quarters Ashton had basically forgotten what peace felt like, through out the night he was having an internal battle and it was all thanks to the beautiful silver haired woman sleeping just a door away from him, Greece continued to nag about going to go see her just "this one last time" he would say, but who was he kidding, just this once would lead to him sitting beside her and creepily watch her sleep, he couldn't do that to them, he didn't want to accept the attraction between him and that woman, what if she woke up and maybe decide to go out and take a walk or do whatever else women do in their spare time and upon return she would stand before him with her mate, or worse what if he led her on and then found his own mate, he couldn't do that to her, it was his fault she was in this situation in the first place and he wasn't about to cause her anymore pain,

he left his place and went straight to the office, not that he had much doing seeing as Aurora had done most of the work, that was another thing that had him loosing his sleep, Aurora would rather spend her time at the company in the human city basically dishing out orders than sit back here and do all the kingdom work within the space of a couple days, he had seen how withdrawn and stressed she looked, and he knew that whatever got Her looking so withdrawn and disinterested was definitely huge, had he been so bothered about his own problems that he had failed to ask about hers? Until the time when he would find his mate Aurora was the only one he had left in their family and he had been so stupid to have neglected her.

He sat there watching his betas converse about the beauties in the pack and how most still listed after other men even when they were with their mates, while they were still deep in their conversation I heard Aurora through the mind link telling me that she had finished cleaning and changing Claire, before I could reply she had cut the link but I could feel her somewhere around, we needed to talk and I was gonna make sure to fix whatever had her feeling unhappy.

A little later the door was pushed open by her, still looking comprehensive but trying to force herself to look happy, to the outsider she looked okay but she is my sister and she sure as hell wasn't okay.

"good morning boys"
She greeted making her way towards the coffee table at the far side of my office.

"hey"
"morning"
"good morning"
We all said at the same time causing her to chuckle a little before sitting and raising her legs to balance them on the table, a habit I hated with a passion, shortly there was a knock, Will strolled to the door and opened it, the chef walked in with a tray and went over to were She sat and gave her the food, which I'm assuming she had missed breakfast, I looked away and focused on the papers I'd been trying to sign with no success cause my mind was a mess.

A little while later I saw her picking a bottle of whiskey and three glasses, I raised my eyebrows in question but all I got was a shrug, she took a sit beside Will then turned to me giving me a curt nod which was her go ahead sign, I guess this is the part where I tell her everything.
I cleared my throat and began from how It all started after my arrival at the Silver Creek Pack.

By the time I was done with the story I couldn't help but grab a glass of whiskey and gulped it all in one go.

"So, in conclusion you are saying that War is coming?"

Leave it to Aurora to always say the weirdest things.

"Yes Aura, war is coming, but is that all you got from all Ash said"
Stan asked voicing my thoughts.

"Well, I did get the part were you now have two betas, that's really a first Ash, I'm thankful cause I no longer have to put up with either of you, Welcome to the family Will, thanks for taking care of Claire, it goes to show that their are still good people in this one"
She got up and pulled him into a hug, whispering something that got Will doubling over in laughter, he looked at Stan as if to confirm whatever was said then busted out to fits of stomach aching kinda laughter, which earned a huff and whine from Stan, its always funny how they can act like children sometimes.

"Anyways boys, I've got business in the city, Will, we will have a ceremony for you tonight, it will not be the usual type but we can suffice"

"Ash, I'll be taking the three of you to the stylist for your tuxedo's, I'm sure you still remember the Alpha's ball"

"I'll see y'all later"
With that she got up and kissed my head, then kissed their cheeks. Then started walking away.
Something was definitely wrong
"am I the only one who thinks that something is terribly wrong with Aurora?"
Stan asked as soon as we were sure she was out of ear shot..

"coming from someone who has watched Claire hide her through feelings for three years, take it from me that she's definitely not okay"

"I'll talk to her"
I replied now sitting back down and running my hands through my hair.
