CHALLENGE (PART 1)

CLAIRE'S POV

           I was still sitting at the table lost in thoughts and unaware of my surroundings  till someone cleared his throat attracting my attention towards him, It was the gorgeous, beautiful, huge, tall, perfectly sculpted  king,  how is he even able to rule and be focused with a face and body like that , he cleared his throat again that's when I realized I had stared at him for a painstaking couple of minutes imagining the most disgusting things.   Shame!!!

     "you seem to have a lot in mind, sorry for disturbing your thoughts but we need to talk about something".  
                 He said, though it felt like he was choosing his words carefully.

Why is he apologizing, I should be the one to apologize for thinking such disgusting thoughts.

       "No, uhmm I'm terribly sorry actually, I didn't mean to space out on you, don't apologize cause I tend to have a lot to think about so don't be sorry for pulling me out,   and Yes we can talk, I'll answer your questions your highness"
I should really shut up with all the rambling.

      "Alright Claire, and please call me Ashton-"
He smiled softly before he stepped closer and took a sit across me.

  "I have been thinking about you and your gifts, it's very rare to not only see your kind in our community but also one whose gifts allows to speak the ancient language.   And secondly It's obvious this place isn't the best place for someone with gifts as important as yours, you should be at the royal castle helping as many as you can.

I know it's not in my place to decide for you but I will still ask  if it would be okay with you to follow me back to the palace, you can take your time to decide,  I'll be leaving by sunset in two days, your alpha needs to formally let Beta Williams go."

My eyes widened in shock at all he just said, Did he just offer me  freedom, a job, a home in the castle, and most importantly a fresh start??

     "do you mean it?  You are willing to take me back to the castle with you?"
  He  nodded yes with a smile.
      
       " Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes. Yes I'll go with you to anywhere that isn't here,  thank you so much  Ashton, this means so much to me"

I kept screaming with no care in the world, the king was saving me from this hell hole with a proper job that let's me use my gifts in helping people who need it more.

I was still screaming when someone suddenly growled behind me..

Alpha COLE:
that whore is definitely going to get it hot, and to think she even ordered me around, declared my Beta  the King's Second Beta, from where I'm standing someone just signed a death wish.

I was walking back from the temple with beta Stan when I heard all the King told the bitch and she had the guts to accept, not even the king is taking the bitch out of my pack.
the King seems to have overstayed his welcome and I believe it's time to remind him who's pack this is.      

  "ENOUGH"  I boomed in the room and just when I was about to ask her what made her think she had the right to not only speak to the King without my permission but also accept an offer from him I was interrupted by a louder growl, one that can only be the King's.

     
       "How dare you growl at her in my presence?"
     
     "What did she do wrong?"

      "Are you upset she's leaving your pack or the fact you will be loosing your personal maid?"

"Answer me alpha Cole, you are currently threading on thin ice, and surely you don't
want me coming any closer than I am"  The king  demanded.

    "   I am sorry my king, I meant no disrespect, I had no intention of  been out of line in your presence, accept my apology my king,
  I was only exacting my annoyance as regards this matter and sadly I might have done it wrong.

in this situation you personally made the rules against pack members leaving their pack territories unless for war, alpha balls, and in the case of finding their mates, so as to reduce the creation of rogues, and wolf's just up and leaving their parks.

In this situation she is of alpha blood, she can only leave if I permit but in the case of refusal then that wolf will have to fight their way out"
I said to the king whom now seemed calmer than before, he made the rules so he has to follow them.

      "Then I. Silver Claire Edmonton challenge you Alpha Cole Winston Edmonton to a fight for my freedom".      
     Claire said looking into my eyes with determination I never thought I could see in anyone's eyes, I didn't see that coming cause naturally I expected her to cower away considering it's what she's been doing over the years.

  Everyone including the king was beyond shocked, she simply spoke words that could be her death warrant, She isn't biologically  alpha blood, she won't last a minute out there, but then again I will win and  that equally means she won't be going anywhere.

      " I Alpha Cole Winston Edmonton accept your challenge,   tomorrow by noon in the training field be ready Claire."
  I walked out of the room cheering myself internally, it couldn't get any better.

SHORT CHAPTER, I KNOW...
Honestly I had no idea where I was going with this particular chapter, probably the least one yet..
